1. Post 66787965 (unedited backup) (by Satofan44) (scraped on Mon Jun 1 22:54:37 CEST 2026) in Meta to cut 8,000 jobs this week as AI spending surges:
AGI is soon going to be with us, we aren't far away from that tech, once it gets available to consumers then things will change a lot. In next few years tech is going to reach its highest levels and who knows by 2032 how will be our lives.
Stop spamming this nonsense, the current understanding of consciousness is zero. The machines that are good at statistically predicting outputs are not intelligent machines, they posses no intelligence at all. Learn the difference and stop parading Scam Altman's nonsense.
I'd be a bit more cautious about the view that "it just moves elsewhere". Meta also canceled 6,000 open roles and there are more cuts expected later this year, so it's not a clean one-for-one swap.
Many users have been spamming that bullshit despite repeated corrections in this thread and others by various users, which indicates that those that are writing this do not read any posts at all. They are just shitposting whatever nonsense comes to their head no matter how wrong. You are absolutely correct that this is not true, it is as if people were so mentally weak that they have to go into denial about the most basic concepts of the world -- they are even afraid of admitting that a job contraction is happening.
The AI jobs being created need very different skills. A recruiter isn't simply walking into an ML role. Some will land elsewhere, sure, but the transition isn't painless and not everyone makes it across.
Most people will lose their jobs because their jobs are useless and their own skill level is useless, but since the job could not be previously automated they had to hire some useless pleb to do menial and shit quality work. This is a good thing, we have effectively employed an army of useless people who should not have had jobs. Oversupply of employees people leads to a decrease in work quality and average productivity, people don't appreciate their jobs as much if getting another is easy. What will be the end result of this we have to see. If a person is a braindead commie, they will want the state to solve the issue for the individual but we know how well that always works out.

4. Post 66787100 (unedited backup) (by tygeade) (scraped on Mon Jun 1 18:50:13 CEST 2026) in Meta to cut 8,000 jobs this week as AI spending surges:
I'd be a bit more cautious about the view that "it just moves elsewhere". Meta also canceled 6,000 open roles and there are more cuts expected later this year, so it's not a clean one-for-one swap.
The AI jobs being created need very different skills. A recruiter isn't simply walking into an ML role. Some will land elsewhere, sure, but the transition isn't painless and not everyone makes it across.
It will definitely be a massive problem for the economy, especially for developed countries. Plus it's going to need a long adjustment period that would need to change the education system, employment situation, AND it will change the social environment.
But I'm very confident that the adjustment phase WILL NEED stimulus package for the economy.

This is the thing, when you are in the USA, a citizen of it, and working there, and then you are fired because for years people told you that coding is a great way to make money, and for the past 20 years, everyone talked about how coders made a killing in the market, and you studied software engineering because of this reasons, and then one day some AI came out and fired you, then I am sorry but what else can you even do?
You just have to use the AI yourself, you know how to code so you can clean AI's code yourself, or troubleshoot it. But you are now forced to use it, the thing that caused you to be fired, is the thing you need to utilize, otherwise you are going to be unemployed and not going to find another job.
5. Post 66786435 (unedited backup) (by dezoel) (scraped on Mon Jun 1 16:03:25 CEST 2026) in Bitcoin price and Inflation:
It’s not just about the value. Real inflation—if we don’t just accept the government’s manipulated CPI—is also difficult to calculate.
You are correct that there's no reliable metric to measure inflation. Since "inflation" comes from "inflate" which means "to expand the supply of something", then the most accurate metric would be the M2 supply of money. This is what is "inflated", and results in the rising of prices.
Since most freshly printed money is used to buy houses as a way to protect the property owners against inflation, the price of your dream house could also be a metric that measures inflation.
Interestingly, you do not even need to print money to have inflation, you will have to eventually but you do not have to when it first happens. When something gets expensive for a reason that creates a chain, you could be late to it.
Like in this case, oil got expensive because of Hormuz, and that caused logistics to be expensive, moving food from farms to table, and that caused the food to be more expensive, which resulted with everything else to be more expensive, without a need to print more money.
6. Post 66785992 (unedited backup) (by Agbe) (scraped on Mon Jun 1 13:56:31 CEST 2026) in Bitcoin Stayed Strong During the War — What Happens if Peace Comes?:
Bitcoin doesn't care about Hormuz, it's just following its own cycles.
I think this clear enough to understand everything about bitcoin and war. I don't know if any of the influencers of bitcoin is participating in the middle war or dealing with oil through the Strait of Hormuz. And if not then bitcoin has nothing to do with Iran war. But if bitcoin is attached to oil for it growth then we can say yes the war is affecting bitcoin. If any of the conflicting countries have taken bitcoin as their National Currency (Legal Tender) then the war would have affected bitcoin but none has adopted it. As for me bitcoin is just on it own movement of the cycle of 4 years. I have analyze this in many threads. If bitcoin will hit All Time High, it will be next year and after next year like what happened last time.
7. Post 66785632 (unedited backup) (by Smack That Ace) (scraped on Mon Jun 1 11:33:43 CEST 2026) in Powell OUT, Warsh IN as Fed Chairman SOON!:
On the crypto angle, it's disclosed he's shown exposure to crypto names like Polymarket and a couple others, but I haven't seen anything confirming he personally holds BTC.
There are reports that he has invested in and held various crypto. But like his predecessors, he also pledged to divest from most of these investments after taking office as Fed Chair, as required by federal ethics rules to avoid conflicts of interest.
He need to remain neutral in his role as Fed Chair to ensure his monetary policy decisions are not influenced by personal financial interests and to maintain the Fed independence.

8. Post 66785392 (unedited backup) (by Wind_FURY) (scraped on Mon Jun 1 10:04:25 CEST 2026) in Powell OUT, Warsh IN as Fed Chairman SOON!:
Actually he's already past the candidate stage. Senate confirmed him in a 54-45 vote, and he officially takes over when Powell's chair term ends May 15. So this is basically done.
On the crypto angle, it's disclosed he's shown exposure to crypto names like Polymarket and a couple others, but I haven't seen anything confirming he personally holds BTC.
I'm very confident that if a person knows about Polymarket, then that person has a very high probability that he/she CURRENTLY owns Bitcoin, or HAS owned Bitcoin, or WILL own Bitcoin in the future.
Bitcoin's price didn't surge to its current price point without a wider population of
HODLers.

11. Post 66783853 (unedited backup) (by DaveF) (scraped on Sun May 31 21:12:25 CEST 2026) in BIP-110 / Knots Designed To Fork Off From The Beginning (and fail):
Friendly reminder to the discussion that talking with Pepe is a complete waste of time. He won't even accept a bet on the certainty of BIP110 being accepted as a soft fork, despite being offered 20-to-1 odds.
History will likely repeat in September. And the only losers will be you, the jpeg loving coretards.
Then why don't you go on a bet with me? If you are certain about your numbers and your knowledge on Bitcoin history, and how "5% of the nodes forced miners in a non-favorable direction for them", and think that history will repeat in September, and "losers like me" will bend over this soft fork, why don't you go on a bet with me? Especially when I'm giving you insane odds, 20:1. We can use escrow, if you don't feel confident that I may not pay you back.
You're all arrogance and endless threads, but when it comes to putting your money where this arrogance is, there's only silence.
He can't bet you he probably does not even have $1
Beyond that we kind of have to keep showing why 110 is bad for the next couple of months till it finally fails. Otherwise there is always the potential for someone who does not know to loose their
BTC by doing something stupid or getting hit with some form of replay attack. At this rate by the 8th or 9th of August at the latest 110 will be it's own chain many blocks behind the main chain and it becomes irreverent.

12. Post 66782197 (unedited backup) (by Cheema02) (scraped on Sun May 31 11:01:07 CEST 2026) in Russia is surely sacrificing long term prosperity for prolonged war!:
Russia can keep the lights on for years thanks to oil revenue and Chinese trade, but propping up the ruble and pouring money into defense isn't the same as building a future. The brain drain alone is a problem you can't fix with a budget surplus.
Once skilled people leave and foreign tech stops coming in, you fall behind and by the time it shows up in the numbers it's already too late to reverse. So yeah, the bill is being paid now, just not in a way that makes headlines.
If a country has a strong trade partnership and generate a huge revenue through oil trading and continuously funding its economy its doesn't means that it gets long term stability and growth. Because long term success requires consistent inovation and skilled people. But the main problem for people is that they leave the country for better opportunities and they are most talented and skill full people so if that kind of people leave the country then how this country get Succces. So with time the industry of that country becomes flouped and all departs works with average skilled person so this situation leads the country towards financial instability and also the foreign investors losing there interest in that contaries which already faces the financial crises. But the actually twist is that these problems are not identify easily in economic reports. So the country is looking forward for financial stability only when almost all individuals touches the best living style.
13. Post 66782132 (unedited backup) (by BitBakerr1) (scraped on Sun May 31 10:20:49 CEST 2026) in The Hidden Psychological Burden of Self-Custody.:
The psychological burden is real and I think most people aren't prepared for it. I used to check constantly the wallet when I started until I realized I was just stressing myself out for no reason.
The inheritance part is the one most people ignore, indeed. Find someone you trust, and provide the instructions. Not the seed itself but enough that they'd know what to do.
Yeah the psychological burden is actually real, I did same too always checking my wallet, there was a time when I even had a dream that someone stole all my bitcoin in that dream I was depressed and I cried, it was so real when I wake up I was relieved and happy it was just a dream I had some tears in my eyes when I wake up.
It was not easy at then but I decided to make my self more stronger and that was when I stopped thinking about my bitcoin getting stolen, the burden is actually real.
Concerning the inheritance you have said it all, as someone holding good amount of bitcoin you need to tell someone you trust on how to get your bitcoin when something bad happens to you, as for me I have already done that and my mind is relaxed about that area.

15. Post 66780531 (unedited backup) (by Dogedegen) (scraped on Sat May 30 21:00:31 CEST 2026) in Bitcoin Is risky... But living on fiat is riskier:
What's your opinion. Do you think people reject Bitcoin because it is truly too risky... or because its risks are easier to see than the risks of fiat?
Are we talking about complete investment and adoption here or some adoption? Because it depends on what you want to talk about. In the case of full adoption and real investment respective to the net worth of the person then the volatility of Bitcoin can be an issue, but even in that case we are talking about people who would only adopt it for financial reasons and not for people who understood Bitcoin. If you understand that Bitcoin is the path to freedom and it is the only choice, then you see the volatility as an extra cost that at this time must be part of it so why would you have a problem with that? For the other case when we consider only some adoption, it is not the volatility at all because that argument does not stand. If you consider people in the first world who have no Bitcoin at all, why would they care if their $100 investment would go up and down in short term? It does not impact them at all and it creates no real risk to them at all because it presents such a small amount of money, yet they have no Bitcoin at all. That tells us that the reason must be something else, whether lack of education, indifference, laziness or something else but it is not volatility or price performance.
It's the visibility thing for sure. A 20% dip feels like an event, but a 7% inflation per year feels like "just how things are". It's the power media and normalization.
Also worth saying, most people don't actually compare the two honestly. They benchmark Bitcoin against zero loss instead of against what their cash actually did over the same period. If you ran the numbers on savings accounts vs real inflation over the last decade, "safe" looks a lot less safe.
Yeah they do the comparison wrong, I've seen people do it wrong when they use Bitcoin to invest in some shitcoin. They write down the USD price of the shitcoin and then see if they came on top at the end, but they fail to consider that the original Bitcoin that they have used went up even more in price so in the end they actually lost money even if it looks like in USD that they didn't. When we talk about savings plans and the performance in the last decade or even a bit longer maybe 15 years, it is clear that it is not safe at all. Actually people are losing a fair amount of money with it, all it does is reduce the rate at which you lose money. So it is a bit better than not keeping it as pure cash or without a plan, that is all. People are stuck in the past where savings actually produced fair returns.

Are you still deluding yourself that BIP110 will not lead to a chain split?
What does the S in RDTS stand for? I'll give you two options:
- The S in RDTS stands for Soft fork
- The S in RDTS stands for hard fork
You're forking yourself out of the network voluntarily.
Nope, we are forking the malware assholes out of the network. Not forking ourselves out kg the network. Cry me a river.
If you don't have hashrate majority, prepare to say goodbye to the Bitcoin chain.
Let's find out in September. Get your popcorn.
If you had no desire to walk away from Bitcoin, you would not support a change in the protocol that would make your node opt-out of Bitcoin.
Stay dumb and arrogant. Real bitcoiners will show you out in September.
You have a malware installed that may result in loss of funds in a couple of months, in case you're unaware.
Liar! Here Greg Maxwell expkains exactly how BIP110 will not confiscate your coin unless you play real stupid games and delete your private keys. Which will cause you to lose your coin in all cases ever since 2009:

18. Post 66779818 (unedited backup) (by notocactus) (scraped on Sat May 30 17:16:31 CEST 2026) in Recovering legacy wallet:
Stop and don't retry that migration yet. If you're on Core 30.0 or 30.1 there's a known bug where a failed legacy wallet migration can wipe everything in the wallet dir. First thing: copy your wallet.dat somewhere safe (ideally offline) before touching anything else.
Even without knowing about that bug, it's always highly recommended that people must make multiple copies (backups) of a wallet file, before starting to do any wallet recovery attempt.
[overview] Recover Bitcoin from any old storage format.
Warning: take security precautions
First: make one or more backups (thanks DaveF)! Make sure you're not working on the only copy you have, as you risk losing everything.
Make sure you know what you're doing, before doing it! When in doubt, don't do it.
19. Post 66779750 (unedited backup) (by Zaguru12) (scraped on Sat May 30 16:53:43 CEST 2026) in How long will this deep last:
Nobody can really tell you when it'll turn, anyone who does is just guessing.
What I've learned is: don't throw in money you can't afford to sit on for years. Dips like this have happened before and Bitcoin always took a long time to recover. Stop watching the charts every day, it'll only mess with your head. Only put in what you can forget about.
I think the real question is what is OP actually buying because he didn’t specify and simply just put said crypto and if it’s all this alts coins then I will understand his statement but if it is bitcoin that OP had actually invested in two years ago then yes there have been dips but his statement of the “money invested is no where to be found” is definitely wrong and incorrect because last two years ago bitcoin wasn’t at $70k yet at this period of time and that been the case OP is still even in profit at the current market price,
But let’s assume that it’s Alts coin then OP should take this advice he should never treats alts coins as an investment because the end result is actually losses, better to throw your money on them like a gambler and not an asset
20. Post 66779467 (unedited backup) (by tbct_mt2) (scraped on Sat May 30 15:31:37 CEST 2026) in Fiat and Bitcoin work hand in hand because without fiat you cannot buy Bitcoin :
Fiat is enforced by the State, so if everyone is forced to treat it as money, it is completely reasonable that buying bitcoin with fiat is a usual trade. If people were no longer forced to treat those shitcoins as money, and we returned to a natural hard money standard, where banks would hold bitcoin and issue banknotes pegged with bitcoin, we could live in pretty good world without fiat.
If governments change their mindset and policy, central banks have to change their systems, the people can get benefit with Banknotes pegged with bitcoin, that's a very bullish future for Bitcoin.
It's cool to imagine about that future with Bitcoin goes mainstream but I am not interested in having my money in banknotes pegged with bitcoin. If I understand about Bitcoin, realize its value as well as importance of Bitcoin private keys, I would like to have my money only in bitcoin, not in any banknotes, and I'd also like to store my bitcoin in Bitcoin non custodial wallets.

22. Post 66778609 (unedited backup) (by Don Pedro Dinero) (scraped on Sat May 30 09:24:55 CEST 2026) in Bitcoin price and Inflation:
Even that website is too conservative, as it uses the official CPI figures as a measure of inflation but I get the idea.
A Bitcoin worth $68K 2021 could be higher than a Bitcoin worth $77K today
This.
We tend to focus on nominal value and neglect real value
I agree with you, but "real value" is a bit deceptive. In economics, all value is subjective and relative.
It’s not just about the value. Real inflation—if we don’t just accept the government’s manipulated CPI—is also difficult to calculate. One could use the increase in the money supply, but there are those who dispute that too. Although I am more inclined to focus on the increase in the money supply—perhaps with some adjustment factor—rather than the CPI.
23. Post 66778393 (unedited backup) (by BitBrainers) (scraped on Sat May 30 07:17:25 CEST 2026) in Bitcoin Is risky... But living on fiat is riskier:
It's the visibility thing for sure. A 20% dip feels like an event, but a 7% inflation per year feels like "just how things are". It's the power media and normalization.
Also worth saying, most people don't actually compare the two honestly. They benchmark Bitcoin against zero loss instead of against what their cash actually did over the same period. If you ran the numbers on savings accounts vs real inflation over the last decade, "safe" looks a lot less safe.
The benchmark problem is real. People compare Bitcoin to zero loss instead of to what their cash actually returned after inflation. Run that comparison over 10 years and the "safe" option looks a lot more expensive than they thought.

I think people overestimate how much war news actually moves Bitcoin. It held up because the macro picture (liquidity, ETF flows, halving cycle) matters way more than headlines from the Middle East. Peace might give a short relief pop, but it's not the trigger for a real bull run.
If the war ending was that bullish, the war itself should've crashed it harder, and it didn't. Bitcoin doesn't care about Hormuz, it's just following its own cycles.
Totally agree with this. Sadly, some persons are believing the narrative that the war in Iran is the reason the price of Bitcoin is down, but they forgot that the Russia/Ukraine war has been going on for years, and yet Bitcoin was able to attain an ATH.
If war had so much influence on the price of Bitcoin, it wouldn't have hit an ATH. The price would have been down from when the war erupted till this moment.

The war will end soon, but it won’t have that huge impact then because the sentiment is driven by the war while it is ongoing. So what we are buying or selling now on the basis of the war is the only impact we are going to see. So when the war ends, we may not get a huge pump, and that could be a disappointment for us.
Yes, BTC does not care about the Hormuz situation. Instead, BTC has allowed Iran to avoid taking certain agreements with the US because it provides a decentralized way to receive payments. Otherwise, their funds would have been blocked by the US, and their stablecoins have also been seized recently. If there were no BTC, then the situation would have been much harder for Iran.

I agree with you that many people are overestimating the impact of the war in the Middle East on Bitcoin prices. Geopolitics can indeed trigger short term volatility by influencing market sentiment, but it is not the primary factor driving Bitcoin price surges. In fact, if the war were truly the primary factor, the downward impact should have been much greater as the conflict escalated. But no, this has only caused temporary volatility, and Bitcoin continues to move according to its own market cycles and structure. Liquidity, institutional capital flows, ETFs, and the halving cycle appear to be more dominant factors than the war in the Middle East.
29. Post 66776475 (unedited backup) (by legiteum) (scraped on Fri May 29 18:13:02 CEST 2026) in Saylor pivoting away from BTC?:
Buying back convertible bonds while they're trading at a discount is just normal balance sheet management, it doesn't mean he's souring on BTC. And "no policy forbids us from selling" is basically legal honesty, no company should ever have a clause that bans them from ever selling an asset, that's not the same as planning to.
I'm not saying it's impossible he ever pivots away from BTC, but it feels like you're stacking two fairly ordinary moves into a narrative that isn't really there yet.
It
is normal for a diversified company, but what wasn't normal was his public stance before this week: that he would never ever EVER sell any of his Bitcoin.
Before this week, MSTR was a pure Bitcoin play: essentially another Bitcoin ETF. Now MSTR is... something else.
Given that MSTR is the single largest holder of BTC besides Satoshi/USA (who are not active traders to say the least), and given that Saylor himself has been, by far, the #1 public marketing agent for Bitcoin in the last five years, I don't think you can simply write this off as just "some business doing business stuff".
I agree the narrative isn't fully there yet, but... these are signs....
30. Post 66776355 (unedited backup) (by tbct_mt2) (scraped on Fri May 29 17:39:01 CEST 2026) in Saylor has created a fiat system on top of Bitcoin:
Since when is issuing and selling shares contrary to the purpose of Bitcoin? Saylor is just taking advantage of the fiat system to build a bank that offers better returns than other banks. The fiat system is designed so that every business eventually becomes interest rate arbitrage business.
This has nothing to do with central banks. Central banks create money out of thin air and force you to treat it as legal tender through the threat of violence. Everyone purchasing shares from Strategy does it voluntarily.
At least people buy Strategy shares voluntarily, not mandatory and it's better than buying shitcoins, though the leveraging strategy of Strategy recent years is actually a big risk for Strategy's investors. If people are aware about this, feel comfortable when voluntarily buying Strategy's shares, I think they're good with their choices and the rest will belong to the future.
Bitcoin success in the future will be helpful for Bitcoin investors and for companies with derivative products related to Bitcoin like Strategy but investing money directly in Bitcoin will be safer than investing money in Strategy's shares and it won't change with time.
31. Post 66776083 (unedited backup) (by SquirrelJulietGarden) (scraped on Fri May 29 16:02:25 CEST 2026) in Which is more secured:
Let's end the 12 vs 24 words seed phrase debate once and for all.
Both are secure. No, a 24 one is not more secure than a 12 one. No attacker will ever brute force a seed phrase from zero. It's easier to brute force the Bitcoin private key directly than a seed phrase with no hints. The reason why wallets allow you to pick between a 12 and 24 words is because of a tradeoff; the more the words, the easier it is to brute force the seed phrase with 3-4 words missing. This is because the checksum is greater with 24 words, and you can skip a lot more invalid seed phrases this way. But the downside is that you're writing down 24 words instead of just 12.
That's it. Both secure. None is "more secure".
The insecure issue from 24 words seed phrase is similar to practice of seed splitting. Some people can think that if they split their seed words, it increases security of their wallet backups but in fact this seed splitting practice is very dangerous. If they lose part of their seed phrase from the splittings, they will not be able to recover their wallets, and that's not how secure the wallet backup is.
That risk is warned there
How to backup a seed phrase? Why is seed splitting a bad idea?

Russia can keep the lights on for years thanks to oil revenue and Chinese trade, but propping up the ruble and pouring money into defense isn't the same as building a future. The brain drain alone is a problem you can't fix with a budget surplus.
Once skilled people leave and foreign tech stops coming in, you fall behind and by the time it shows up in the numbers it's already too late to reverse. So yeah, the bill is being paid now, just not in a way that makes headlines.
Yep, you are right about the long term economic damage bro, because they are obscuring GDP growth with defense spending, and that creates a dangerous illusion of stability. Also, Russia recently visited China, and both are among the biggest competitors of the US, so something was already being prepared before the war escalated again. So far, Ukraine's drones have affected Russia greatly. They are using advanced weapons to strike drones down and even placing defenses on top of buildings using helicopters. These weapons are advanced, but it is alarming for the region because it indicates that the war is escalating further.
The real loss is also not just financial. I think it is demographic and technological, like the loss of human capital and forced reliance on Chinese technology, which can eventually bring economic stagnation.
As you said, by the time these structural cracks fully show up in the macro data, the decline may become impossible to reverse. It is like a silent economic decay.

You would be surprised how many times I traveled and have had an eyebrow raised when I wanted to pay in Cash! How many stores had a 'No Cash Accepted' sign! Mostly through out Europe, but it still happens more often now!

Russia might not be falling behind in all aspects. The government is investing heavily in the defense industry. Before now, Russian military weapons were believed to be old-fashioned. But war has made the country expand and modernize its military manufacturing sector. Its military industry has built the capacity to produce drones, artificial intelligence, and electronic warfare. The same thing is also happening in Ukraine.
Russia's GDP is small in comparison to that of the G7 and EU combined and as it is, they are prioritizing this war and sacrificing their economic sovereignty to survive this war against Ukraine.
Their financial problems are definitely compounding for long term unless this war is ended and resources get rerouted to help its present economy.
They are currently starving other sectors that should be growing right now like innovation and are indebted to Chinese support.
This is going to bite them in the ass when the war is finally over.

I wish this was done on purpose. I cannot imagine the emotion when you accidentally send 107 BTC to a burn address instead of some other address. Whoever did this on purpose is probably one of the most dangerous Joker-like psychopaths alive. I just can't think rationally why you would burn money, let alone ~$8 million.
At least be a little more generous with the miner. He only paid him a dollar.
I'm telling myself not to become provoked concerning someone's fortune. I should be minding my business, but 107 BTC relating to the current price of Bitcoin, even if i run psycho, I wouldn't do such a thing.
Wish i can reach this person to let him know, my address is as good as the one he used for burning.

38. Post 66773045 (unedited backup) (by Itz-prisigold) (scraped on Thu May 28 19:02:50 CEST 2026) in Could Bitcoin be the cause of the war :
Wars have been happening long before Bitcoin existed, so I doubt it's the actual cause. Most recent conflicts come down to land, resources, crony capitalism politics, the usual stuff. Bitcoin reserves are still tiny compared to what governments spend on oil and military.
Correlation isn't causation here. And also, I would not argue that States have been "trying hard" to accumulate bitcoin.
Yeah the point you actually made is correct. I believe that people have confused this type of interest in Bitcoin by governments with Bitcoin actually creating conflict. But people should not forget so quick that wars have existed long before crypto emerged and the majority of these wars still have to do with power, resources, politics and money.
At the moment, Bitcoin is still a really small scale business compared to oil, trade, military spending etc. So saying that Bitcoin is actually one of the reasons why wars are going on is a bit too far. I believe that Bitcoin is more about what governments are paying attention to, rather than fighting over, because they don't want to fall behind in terms of the financial situation as more people join the Bitcoin movement.

Fall in love with TRYING.
Try that business idea.
Try sending that cold email.
Try approaching that woman.
Try getting jacked in the gym.
The world will never be the same once you live it as a tryer.
True if done honestly, terrible if done in a self-deluding way. We have an epidemic of vanity where many people do a lot of things just as participation trophies so that they can tell others that they are doing it. The difference between real hard work or trying with self-deluded hard work is staggering. Many believe that doing the basics in their job in order to have food on the table is "working hard".

I could guarantee you that not even 10% of the people who would write here that they are "trying" or agree with the approach are actually trying.

Every Bitcoiner you envy is a man who TRIED when trying made no sense.
He didn't have a roadmap.
Bitcoin does not have roadmap but it has succeeded while shitcoins have roadmaps and they failed, died, scammed.
This part talks about the person's roadmap (he), not about projects and their roadmaps so this comment is misplaced.
In 2010, he downloaded a wallet nobody asked him to download. He mined coins on a laptop while his friends played Counter-strike 2.
In 2010 who ever found about Bitcoin was the lucky one because in that year many people were playing online multiplayer games and they weren't even thinking about something like Bitcoin or about crypto market. PayPal was there but as a payment processor not as a market but the Bitcoin created a whole market that we call crypto market today. The smart ones who mined Bitcoin back in 2010 were really the ones who're enjoying the best rewards now. Only a few people who weren't that smart sold their Bitcoin when it touched $100 value.
False. Many people have found Bitcoin in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, all the way until now and they have decided not to participate in it. There are 2 parts to this process. One is discovery, and if you didn't look then the responsibility is entirely yours -- you are to blame, it is not about luck. Very few cases are about luck, you were self-medicating yourself with other internet bullshit such as the example of games that you have given. The second part is understanding and adoption. Many more have seen than have adopted even in the earliest years.

But losing isn't demotivating to the man who loves trying.
Because he is not in to win and lose. He is in to TRY.
Fall in love with TRYING.
Part of the reason why the very brilliant one's struggle to get things done and end up serving or working for the middle-class dude is that they always try to wait till things gets all perfect before they even start doing what they should be doing. things don't become completely fixed after the first try, you have to be dogged enough to keep trying even when the odds seem against you and that is where those that were able to make a difference in their any sector got it right.
in general, the difference between those that will make a difference in the past and those that will only have stories to tell is the ability of either of them to take the right action.

42. Post 66770837 (unedited backup) (by SamReomo) (scraped on Thu May 28 01:59:55 CEST 2026) in Fall in love with TRYING:
43. Post 66769453 (unedited backup) (by SeriouslyGiveaway) (scraped on Wed May 27 17:59:31 CEST 2026) in Slowly, Bitcoin is separating money from the state!:
Bitcoin is separating money from the State, correct, but Bitcoin does not separate the State from property rights, and this is the primarily problem, unfortunately. Bitcoin does provide high levels of freedom, but if you want to use your bitcoin to buy a car or a house, you need to get permission from the State, and this is where it falls short.
Capital gains tax is the next goldmine for the State. Since they steal everyone through inflation, anyone who will try to escape through capital appreciation methods, will get taxed properly. We need even smarter solutions that will avoid the banking system completely.
When the state want to tighten their policies and regulations including tax like capital gain tax, people will have more problems and mostly have to obey to existing policies, laws and regulations. It's risky if they want to find ways to avoid tax because they must do it very perfectly from start to ending. If they began bad or made mistake in the middle, they will have big problems with government and tax issues later.
If traces are left, and government found that, it's impossible to deny the ownership with these addresses, bitcoins and deny tax responsibility. Cost of breaking laws and tax will be very costly and government will not treat such citizens too friendly.
44. Post 66769060 (unedited backup) (by Rikafip) (scraped on Wed May 27 15:54:01 CEST 2026) in Brief monthly overview of the local board activity:
Its time for yet another brief monthly overview of local boards activity, this time for October 2025. All charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr
Merit Dashboard and BitList
Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bengali) don't have their own local boards yet.
Post activity per local board during April 2026During April, 13283 posts were written across 18 local boards that are part of this overview, which is a slight decrease compared to March (13524). Nigerian remained the most active board, followed by Russian and Turkish and all the other far behind, while the bottom few remained the same like in the previous months.
Active members per local board during April 2026During the last month, 1276 members wrote at least 1 post in one of the local boards, which is an expected decrease compared to March, during which 1305 members were active. Once again Nigerian remained the most active one, but this by not so big difference compared to Russian, while all other local boards are far behind.
Local board members per amount of posts during April 2026When it comes to the percentage of members who wrote only 1 post in their board during October, leader is Polish board that had 57% of such members, while Pakistan had only 11%, lowest among all local boards.
At the 2-9 posts bracket leader is once again Romanian board with 71%, while Croatian local board had only 16% of such members.
Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, leader is Turkish board with 48%, while at the bottom is Polish that had no members who wrote 10+ posts during last month.
Merit shared per local board during April 2026Last month, 7462 merit was shared across local boards, which is an increase compared to March (7089 merit). This increase is shared among the few boards, while the most merited one (Nigerian) had a small decrease compared to the March.
More observant members might notice that French local board is missing from this chart, and that's because they didn't send a single merit in their local board during April. I don't know what's going on there, but its definitely not good.
Merit/Post ratio per local board during April 2026The average merit per post ratio across local boards during April was 0.56, which is am increase compared to March (0.52 merit per post) and was epxcted due drop in the amount of posts written and increase of merit shared.
Spanish board is back at the top, followed closely by Romanian while Italian and Croatian close the group of those with more than 1 merit per post. At the same time, Greek board is down at only 0.05 merit per post, but its good to see that Pilipinas numbers are slowly improving.
Merit senders and receivers per local board during April 2026In April, 530 members sent while 601 received merit in one of the local boards, and is an increase compared to month before (517 senders, 602 receivers).
Percentage of merited posts across local boards during April 2026Once again Romanian board is at the top, and once again with 60% of merited posts, but Italian is also not that far away with 49% which is even more impressive considering how much more active they are than Romanian board.
Merit per transaction across local boards during April 2026And for the end of this series of charts, the one that shows meriting habit of local boards.
The most active members per local board during April 2026The last but not the least, the list of the most active local board members. joker_josue from Portuguese board was once again the most active one with 134 posts (1 less than month before), while 2 members of Russian local board, safar1980 (128 posts) and klarki (127 posts) are right behind him. GG guys, keep it up!

45. Post 66767980 (unedited backup) (by tabas) (scraped on Wed May 27 07:36:25 CEST 2026) in Fall in love with TRYING:
In 2017, when it crashed from $20k to $3k, he was called an idiot.
I guess that many of us have been called as this during those times. Didn't sold, just held for a long time and by the next years and cycles, we have planned our sale. Although that's not bad at all as long as you're trying to recover those sold BTCs during those ATHs. The point is very nice that all of us should keep on trying. People think these days that accumulating Bitcoin is hard, while someone keeps talking of the difficulty. Someone out there is trying already to accumulate without any complain but just pure actions with the plans of reaching an specific amount to hold.

Try that business idea.
Try sending that cold email.
Try approaching that woman.
Try getting jacked in the gym.
The world will never be the same once you live it as a tryer.
That is a really motivating speech you have given and it is actually true because we can only achieve something if we are willing to try. If we become like those people who always complain and constantly want assurance from others, wanting someone to tell them that everything will happen for sure, then we will never move forward. They do not even want to hear a slight uncertainty or doubt in your words. They want full assurance, even if the person is selling them a lie. And most of the time when someone says something will happen 100 percent for sure and promises easy 10x gains, those are usually scammers. Even Satoshi Nakamoto once said, "If you don’t believe me or don’t get it, I don’t have time to try to convince you, sorry."
That is why we should try, but at the same time we should not blindly try every single thing. Exploring opportunities is good to some extent, but eventually we also need focus, discipline, and dedication toward a specific direction if we truly want meaningful results.

Well nice article though if I had the liberty of coming up with a name for it I'll probably replace TRYING with TAKING RISK. People are generally scared of uncertainty in most cases and crypto is just one of them. Losing money is kinda hard to comprehend especially for people with no investor mindset.
In most cases realising a missed opportunity can be more painful than a failed opportunity. That's one of the major reasons why you just try to manage how you risk it's what will tell how long your mindset will last.

Look at every rich Bitcoiner you know. Cross-check the timeline:
In 2010, he downloaded a wallet nobody asked him to download. He mined coins on a laptop while his friends played Counter-strike 2.
In 2013, when it hit $100, he was called a gambling addict.
In 2017, when it crashed from $20k to $3k, he was called an idiot.
In 2021, when it crashed from $69k to $16k, he was called a cultist.
There were a lot of risk, challenge, and tests for early Bitcoin adopters. Things were not easy with them but people when looking at success of the other people, they feel things are very easy for early adopters, and it's just wrong.
Every Bitcoiner you envy is a man who TRIED when trying made no sense.
He didn't have a roadmap.
Bitcoin does not have roadmap but it has succeeded while shitcoins have roadmaps and they failed, died, scammed.
People can learn from Satoshi and success of early adopters, and change their mindset, then kick of their journeys with Bitcoin.
Satoshi's lesson. He had a 1% chance and he took it.
That's the only difference between him and you.
It's big difference between people who are ready to learn, ready to take risk, and actually take action as insiders compares to people who are lazy to learn, don't want to take risk, hesitate to take action for their starts.

He didn't have a roadmap.
Obviously he didn't have a road mad. He was skeptical, he was fearful, the world, friends and governments were against him.
He could sleep with the hope of profits, but the market will journey to the bear land.
When the price was $300, you were waiting for "the dip."
When the dip came, you were waiting for "confirmation."
When the dip came, he was waiting for it to go to zero and then, zero never came and will never come.
At $77k it still feels like he missed the opportunity. But at $500k, he will realize that today is the opportunity.

52. Post 66763722 (unedited backup) (by Franklyn-wood) (scraped on Mon May 25 23:34:37 CEST 2026) in Why economic statistics could be hiding social decline :
GDP is one of the dumbest measures there are. Measuring the growth of an economy in terms of how much spending there is, is completely insane. People could be dying of starvation in the streets, and the GDP could still point positive if the banking system loaned the government sufficiently, and the government spent it on cronies.
Just a reminder that during the WW2, GDP was going up. That's all you need to know about how reliable it is.
I agree with you about that as many countries today who GDP is high, many of there citizens are very poor and helpless, but when you look at there GDP, you will see that even when the GDP is high the people under this same economy are suffering bad. If a country have fascinating GDP and yet the social aspect is overlooked. It will only be a ceremonial statue without inpacts on the people becomes a waste effects over the year
