Sure, there is a possibility of BTC to go down 70%+ after it reached its peak, but looking at the price history, the decline percentage is getting smaller per cycle. Aside from that, there is no certainty in Bitcoin price, we can never absolutely tell what the bottom price will be, but if @P thinks he knows better, sure, he can always go with his target, it is his money anyway Grin

I know that the we are in bitcointalk, and most of us are pro-bitcoin, but i am still genuinely troubled by advices like this. Personally i rather add an disclaimer, like even a meme "don't invest more then you can lose" would be enough.

There's a huge difference with convincing others that they wouldn't regret doing something compared to telling them what you are planning to do and what you believe in.

Thing is, no matter how sure we are, we don't know what's going to happen, every advice is just an educated guess in best. And frankly, i believe that most people in here don't have enough information to do risk analysis.

First of all, the pattern of the poem is unusual with the indent line spacing pattern. And the poem is a free verse with no alternative rhyme scheme. I was trying to capture rhythm at the first 6,7 and 8 lines but the indent spacing pattern confused me to unrealistic. In the last cycle, things were almost out of prediction but it still came in between the cycle and now we are all expecting Halving to start next year and if it happens then we are still in the cycle and the All Time High should be after the Halving but before then we will see some bull runs. Either before or after the Halving.

Honestly some trimming wouldn't hurt given how bloated the bureaucracy has gotten. The real losers are the aid programs in places like the DRC (as mentioned in the article) that can't afford political games.

It's a pretty fair demand if you ask me. There will not be change any other way so why not cut the funding till you see what you want. Yeah, Trump can be a bit extra in his demands sometimes but you have to be hard to get results. I just hope the UN don't get bullheaded and let this thing continue for long cause the more the delay, it's the less funding they will receive and how long will they be able to carry out projects without adequate funding?

True, I have a tendency to leave some money on the table at the absolute market peaks because I exit within a year after the halving. However, my entries are pinpoint accurate. I simply wait for the price to drop below the mining production cost.

Last cycle, I entered around $17K and sold at $100K. Last week, I placed an order below $60K, and I am back in the market. I plan to sell closer to 2029.

If op believes so much in gold, then he should stick to it and not trying to make it seem like bitcoin is taking away the glory of gold which isn't.

The true concept of bitcoin was to act as a decentralized digital currency but over the time, its volatility has opened more opportunities to it and yes it has made it possible for bitcoin to be a store of value and not just a regular currency which is why people troop into buying and holding bitcoin.

Your right gold is every were in the world but, the ones that is discovered through mining is what is known, so to a large extent gold too is somehow scare. That's why it value and use has been of relevance over the centuries, Bitcoin has been discribed as the digital gold because it functions almost the same thing as gold because gold too is used to save money against the effects of inflation thesame thing Bitcoin also do on the Internet space.

Bitcoin and gold are both superior to fiat currency in the area of money, but I consider BTC as gold 2.0 when it comes to assets due to it decentralization, censorship resistance, scarcity enforcement, and transfer efficiency.
Nevertheless, the economic relevance of Gold is about its verifiable stock, not theoretically the total supply of it deep in the earth, and according to my research, there's always a 1–2% yearly increase from Gold mining to the total supply based on the historical information of new Gold mining production.

If we look at the infamous ''Bitcoin rainbow chart" (one of the main pillars of the ''cycle theory''), in the last cycle, particularly in late 2024, we only briefly tapped the ''still cheap'' band and the rest of the cycle was spent at the ''accumulate'' or lower bands.

They should not stack while they are anxious, because it will never give them any great result, but rather if they want to do it this must come with their discipline.

If we could really see a repeat cycle just like what happen on that year, then give us a hint that those bottom is another great opportunity to buy Bitcoin, but as always we should consider always to use the amount they can afford to lose, also not do any FOMO or anything that pressure buying. But well see on what will be the result for this year if we see changes or Bitcoin will follow its usual movements.

Once the 8 million BTC from OG wallets end up in the hands of Blackrock and Strategy, maybe we experience supercycle.

This is true, but more gold deposits are discovered within few years. There are more gold on earth than trees, but most of the gold are buried where humans can not mine it. There are far more gold in the milky way and far more gold in the observable universe.

I think bitcoin is better depending on how humans see it. If they see is more scarce and they prepare to se it as money in the digit age, they buy it, the government buy it, more institutions buy it.

Yup, that is because they have no BTC so they want to make sure nobody else wants to have BTC either.

60 days +/- a couple till they have their own chain and stop bothering us.

I don't see them as any different then the people who follow BSV. They do not want to understand why they are wrong so they find something that they can rationalize around.
And when we point out that it's not going to do what they say it's going to do and show them the reasons they spout gibberish.

As I said before once the fork happens I hope all the 110 threads get moved to the altcoin section where be belong with all the other scams.

There is a third choice as well which can somehow tackle FOMO as well. Why not set a target for ends (as per your predictions). Lets say, you wait and if the price move beyond $65K you will buy or if it breaks below 55k you will buy. It will satisfy your urge of speculation as well for some extent Cheesy

As BHC rightly said it does not matter when you buy as long as you are holding it for long term but sometimes these tricks make us more comfortable with the buying decisions.

Certainly there is adoption, but not just adoption. Okay, let's do away with the "cycle" label and call it a pattern. There definitely is a pattern here, right? Before the invention of Bitcoin, there were traders trading financial assets, stocks, forex, gold, etc. And these traders worked with past data, trying to identify a pattern correlating with these assets' behavior, when the data becomes consistent, then it becomes a yardstick.

Bitcoin, whether we want it or not, is now a financial asset that can be traded too, and the same principle is applied, and the same result is produced. Maybe no cycle, but there definitely is a pattern behaving cycle-like.

Well, if people would've to wait a certain time to pump in money into Bitcoin; then that's a circle. It brings in money and at the same time more people. We've seen that happen every four years repeatedly for a few rounds now. If we follow what had been done in 2017/18 (high/drop), 2021/22 (high/drop) and then now 2025/? (high/?), we can still point to a circle. However, for me, 2025 didn't end well as it didn't get to my presumed >X3 of previous circle ATH. Every new ATH did more than X3 of a previous circle.

A $200k+ would've captured that very well for 2025 but Bitcoin only did $126k before declining till now.

It is crazy how the definitions of "long term" HODLers can even reasonably be considered to be less than a full cycle, and I even have troubles with even 4 years as a minimum timeline for long term holders because for a variety of reasons, it seems to short.

There is a bit of disingenuiness when data is being presented in such ways, and I think that several of us might be considering guys who had accomplished most of their bitcoin accumulation prior to 2021 to be in a decent place for being labelled as longer term HODLers.. and that would be 5.5-ish years.

Surely there could also be guys who might have had accomplished most of their bitcoin accumulation prior to 2021, yet still continued to accumulate bitcoin in and after 2021, since they still had not considered themselves to have had gotten enough bitcoin, and many folks think of Saylor/MSTR as a long term HODLer, yet he does not even come close to have had accumulated most of his bitcoin prior to 2021, even though prior to 2021, he accumulated way more bitcoin than any of us could have had even imagined accumulating, even if we might have had gotten into bitcoin before 2013.

Although arguably, guys who got into bitcoin prior to 2013, could have had pretty decent ways of accumulating thousands of bitcoin, since they may well could have had averaged bitcoin purchase prices of less than $10 per coin.. .. yet of course, sometimes it can take some time to really realize what bitcoin is, so not everyone could have had been like Trace Mayer, Roger Ver, the Winklevii twins or some of the others who were thought to have taken a fairly aggressive bitcoin accumulation stance prior to 2013.. so maybe it might have had been more relatable to identify with guys who had invested $50k to $100k which still could have had reasonably amounted to 5k to 10k coins... for a somewhat well-to-do^** normie in those mostly pre-2013 times.

**Note: I mean "well to do" in the context of having a decent amount of capital that could have had been deployed, since so many normies do not tend to either have very much capital that they can deploy in a short period of time, and/or normies tend to be unwilling to deploy a lot of capital in a short period of time, which is part of the reason that some version of DCA tends to be more practical, even if the normie mibht be trying to be aggressive with his bitcoin accumulation and might be trying to somewhat front load his bitcoin investment.

But we could just re-phrase the relation I "really" meant in other words - that fiat is "backed" by the goods and services available in a country or economic area in a specific timeframe. (GDP is even incomplete for that, we also have to take into acount "static" wealth, like real estate).

And then it becomes 90%+ an one-sided relation again. There may be edge cases (again Venezuela) where problems with the fiat supply has major impact on the "number of goods and services", but most of the time it is the other way around. The problems arise if the relation between money supply and "goods and services" becomes too imbalanced, like in the early 2010s and the early 2020s (the "Covid supply boost") in many countries.

Because it is simply false. Each share doesn't "own" X satoshis, it has satoshis "exposure".

First, those satoshis aren't redeemable. Second, the concept only applies to the shares that are at the bottom of the capital structure, in other words, in the event of a liquidation, MSTR shareholders would not receive a single satoshi—or just crumbs. This is just because how you wrote in your answer to BlackHatCoiner - fiat is anchored to GDP, not to reserves. But Strategy has practically no equivalent to a "GDP" because their only business model is managing "reserves". If they had still a substantial software business things would be different. And maybe if they really build up a major lending business they would again have some substantial "GDP".

So I consider these "bullshit numbers" much more important for Strategy, and be it as a "marketing vehicle", than for fiat.

Overall, I agree with the analysis that GDP is more important for fiat than for Strategy, but the company doesn’t just manage reserves. It creates new products. MSTR had already created them; then it started buying Bitcoin with convertible debt, launched the ATM, and began issuing preferred shares to which it also applied the ATM. It doesn’t just manage reserves.

Supposedly it is not good for Bitcoin, but can't be avoided either.

Mathematically it is indeed much more complex than that due to the liquidation cascade if the system goes out of balance (bonds -> STRF -> STRC -> STRD -> STRK -> common share). The "reserves to money supply" number (which would be the same "bullshit indicator" in the fiat world) rarely has a major incidence on the exchange rate, again only in these extreme cases where the market knows that the reserves are too low.

This is just because how you wrote in your answer to BlackHatCoiner - fiat is anchored to GDP, not to reserves. But Strategy has practically no equivalent to a "GDP" because their only business model is managing "reserves". If they had still a substantial software business things would be different. And maybe if they really build up a major lending business they would again have some substantial "GDP".

So I consider these "bullshit numbers" much more important for Strategy, and be it as a "marketing vehicle", than for fiat.

This is exactly the character that those who are able to build wealth has and it’s lacking in many people today. These people don’t find securities before they go about making their investment, they venture into the uncertainty and turbulence, navigate without any compass, using their third eyes to keep a sense of direction and purpose and now, we tend to envy them for their success.

It’s the part of some investors too though, it’s even more scary in Bitcoin being an uncharted water, though you don’t have it on PlayStation, it’s real life. When we look for certainties, we only thread on a roadmap that the goals are now different.

Another way of saying it's more offensive not to try at all than to fail while trying. The early stage is always full of discouragement even for those who might want to start now, mockery will arise, self doubt will spring up, struggles of commitment will come up. But at the end determination always pays.

A later starter is far better than someone who never tried at all. While bitcoin price keeps looking intimidating for starts it's best to overlook distractions and focus on the rewards on a long-term as long as consistency is prioritised.

It is once again turning into a credit money printing machine and that is very contrary to the original vision of Bitcoin. What's worse is that Strategy can reach a point when they are systemically important and indispensable. At that point the real question is whether the once supposed supra-systemic or system-agnostic Bitcoin network is still a non-institutional layer. And the answer must be "no, it is not anymore what it was supposed to be". Nobody changed the code and the parameters, but the whole network is essentially taken hostage.

Once Strategy obtained systemic relevance up to a point where it becomes dangerous for the network to let Strategy fail, the original purpose of Bitcoin is undermined and it is no more exosystemic.

One of the biggest problems in the legacy system is the horrifically extreme financialization of anything and everything. Ironically, blockchain could contribute to that trend if it is used to tokenize real estate and art and whatever else, I read that personal income could be tokenized. But this trend to over-financialization, which allows for complexity and chaos to reach unmanageable levels, was supposed to be countered by fixed supply hard money like Bitcoin, which, on the base layer, doesn't allow for credit money creation and expansion and unhealthy leverage operations. But if successive layers of financial claims are built on top of the base asset or Bitcoin becomes the foundation for layered financial claims, you once again have the detachment of the bearer asset and exposure to actual leverage and opacity (systemic risk, which Bitcoin was supposed to counter). It all ends up again in a chaos of certificates wandering around and nobody really knows what it is worth, not even the people holding real Bitcoin can rely on market information efficiency, because complex financial layer structures make markets inefficient under certain circumstances. Usually more products increase liquidity and improve price discovery, but in extreme cases the laying itself becomes the signal, not the underlying asset anymore.

The extent that Bitcoin is being more and more collateralized, its function as a bearer asset is getting continuously undermined. Instead it facilitates the expansion of credit money and that was one of the implicit critiques expressed in the message of the genesis block.

And victims are those who tried. So it's good to try, but the things you have to look for before trying is another information that is needed as well, very important.

Before you try out something make sure
- you make proper research about what so ever
- There is transparency
- good reputation
- you know someone who is into it
- it looks like a hard earned result (Avoid too good to be true)

False. Many people have found Bitcoin in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, all the way until now and they have decided not to participate in it. There are 2 parts to this process. In the very early days of Bitcoin, he played Counter Strike all day long and we had LAN parties and were hanging around. One day he said he is mining this thing called Bitcoin, "pretty funny" he said, "I just have it open in the background and it's coming into my wallet". None of us knew what he was talking about and didn't understand and not really care at that point. He found out because someone else from his Internet bubble told him. A week or so later I asked him what this mining was about and he said he stopped it because he had no clue what it was good for.

He may have gotten lucky to have found out about it, but he decided not to participate in it and as was usual for him, at some point overwrote the HD and threw that whole thing in the trash and bought a new PC. Thank you for sharing your story, and as rare as it may be here, accurately understanding a topic using the objective truth. Many people here are complete cowards that refuse to admit their own failures, instead their shift away responsibility and blame with meaningless things like "luck". Was it luck that someone was actively seeking ways to earn money, to build something new, investigating cryptography proposals (and whatever else applicable someone might have been doing) while others were watching useless TV shows, playing endless video games and all sort of useless shit? Is it luck that someone has a Phd because they decided to go to an university while someone decided to go to useless parties in their 20s? Roll Eyes

Let's face it, the cases of luck are rare and they can be dismissed. Most people did not find Bitcoin because they were busy with other meaningless pursuits of their daily lives. This is the first part of the equation, the second part of the equation is the decision to take part in it or not. While in the first part there can be some aspects of luck for certain individuals and in specific stories, in the second part there is no luck involved at all which invalidates the luck of the first part completely. Many "lucky" individuals decided not to participate. Contrary to them, others were not lucky -- they decided to participate themselves.

My story is similar, my first involvement with Bitcoin was not meant to be -- I saw it somewhere very early, but I decided not to pursue it at the time for whatever reasons that I am not going to share now. However, the second time I saw it I immediately got involved with it and read everything that was mainstream and available at the time. A complete red-pill. Meanwhile, I know today but have also met in passing countless individuals who have seen Bitcoin various times over the years and at each step of the way they have decided NOT TO TRY -- they decided NOT TO GET INVOLVED.

In some less eloquent words, here is a nice FUCK YOU from me and others to everyone who wants to claim that those that were TRYING and DECIDED to get involved in Bitcoin at any point were LUCKY. Cheesy

This is the thing, when you are in the USA, a citizen of it, and working there, and then you are fired because for years people told you that coding is a great way to make money, and for the past 20 years, everyone talked about how coders made a killing in the market, and you studied software engineering because of this reasons, and then one day some AI came out and fired you, then I am sorry but what else can you even do?

You just have to use the AI yourself, you know how to code so you can clean AI's code yourself, or troubleshoot it. But you are now forced to use it, the thing that caused you to be fired, is the thing you need to utilize, otherwise you are going to be unemployed and not going to find another job.

But the problem? The technology will merely get better and better, and the goal for developing such a technology is to have a 0-Engineer future.

That absolutely shows that mainstream adoption will only GO UP as more and more of those Bitcoin-educated people take different government posts, especially high-ranking government positions. Cool

This is the thing, when you are in the USA, a citizen of it, and working there, and then you are fired because for years people told you that coding is a great way to make money, and for the past 20 years, everyone talked about how coders made a killing in the market, and you studied software engineering because of this reasons, and then one day some AI came out and fired you, then I am sorry but what else can you even do?

You just have to use the AI yourself, you know how to code so you can clean AI's code yourself, or troubleshoot it. But you are now forced to use it, the thing that caused you to be fired, is the thing you need to utilize, otherwise you are going to be unemployed and not going to find another job.
