Nowadays a random entity buys 10 BTC, and all of a sudden, they're "all in for it."
I'd rather see 20 national banks buying 10 than one buying 200.

3. Post 66053227 (unedited backup) (by JayJuanGee) (scraped on Sat Nov 15 21:25:55 CET 2025) in Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion:
New poll: ATH before 2026?
The answer is yes.
No one knows .... But i'm in for it.
You don't sound confident.
If you were a betting man, then on a 50/50 bet, then which side would you take?
Personally I would have a hard time taking such a bet.. since there are only 6-ish weeks remaining in this calendar year.
If I would bet for this year making ATH I really don't know, but I would always go for it as long we are less as 30% from ATH
Well right now, as I type this post, we have ONLY 6.5 weeks before the end of the year.
It is funny how percentages go, yet to go up to the ATH, we have to go up 31.5% from the current price of $96k in order to touch upon the ATH of $126,272 (that is $126,272 / $96,000).. On the other hand, if we want to proclaim how much we dipped from the top, it is ONLY 24% (that is $96,000 / $126,272).. .funny how numbers (maths) work like that.
No matter the calculation.. it is a bit of ground to make up, and surely it is not impossible to happen in 6.5 weeks.
Let's see what happens..
In this market greedy bastards like me can't win. I've been telling myself to buy Bitcoin if it goes down below 100k dollars. However this time I want to see 75k dollars. I will have a question to ask the geniuses here. Is it the right time now to start buying gradually or should I wait a little longer?

Holy fucking shit, CLS63. Are you trolling us? You have been here since August 2017 and you are still fucking around trying to figure out when to buy dee cornz?
You should have had already been buying since August 2017 and that would have had helped you to answer your own question, since if you had been buying since August 2017, then either you can continue to buy or if you had gotten enough, then you would have had stopped buying at some point and then your stash size might inform you whether you might buy on certain dips.
Where you are at might help to answer your own question... and sorry for your loss if you spent 8 years on the forum without steadily buying bitcoin or some variation of such.

I would wait for ~25k. HFSP.
You BIG meanie d_eddie. I see a lot of folks waiting for $70k.. as if that is not unrealistic enough.

You've been here for 8 years, what took you so long?

I'll tell you next week

More serious answer: "buying gradually" sounds like DCA. The whole point of DCA is that you don't try to time the market, so you can start anytime you want.
I see that Loyce beat me to it.

But he will do the 5200 with the dca
$10k to invest. Put $5k in right now.
Invest $2,600 for the next 26 weeks at $100 per week.
Invest another $2,400-ish for buying dips that may or may not happen.. and we still need to be happy even if the dips do not happen. $300 starting at $92k then 7 more every $3k down at $89k, $86k, $83k, $80k, $77k $74k and $71k.
Of course there are a variety of ways to be creative since it is likely that a guy has an amount available and then he has an income coming in too.. so both the amount that he has and the amount that he has coming in needs to be accounted.. and since his investment in bitcoin should be 4-10 years or longer, he likely will need a couple of cycles to really make progress.. even though along the way of his investing, he may well have additional money come in that he is able to dedicate to bitcoin investing.. that is if he has enough enthusiasm for bitcoin rather than just cashing out every year, as some people do (and then don't make any progress, even after investing in bitcoin for 10 years or more).
In this market greedy bastards like me can't win. I've been telling myself to buy Bitcoin if it goes down below 100k dollars. However this time I want to see 75k dollars.
You've been here for 8 years, what took you so long?
I will have a question to ask the geniuses here. Is it the right time now to start buying gradually or should I wait a little longer?
I'll tell you next week

More serious answer: "buying gradually" sounds like DCA. The whole point of DCA is that you don't try to time the market, so you can start anytime you want.
If you are ready to buy...
You are correct. Some folks are not "ready to buy." So that is a problem for those people.. yet what are the reasons for their not being "ready to buy?" The devil is in the details, no?
NGL, thinking of taking some profit again next time we hit $100k USD/BTC.
The economic numbers have me a bit spooked, and would be nice to just sit on the cash. Schwab has a really good money market account.
The fact the govt isn't releasing October numbers is... historic.
Not sure we're gunna see $125k USD/BTC before the end of the year.
Would love to be wrong.
Have a great weekend, folks.
Yeah but.
What about early 2026?
The crazy part about today’s losses are that Strategy is currently buying with $700+ million dollars raised from the STRE offering. Saylor confirmed this during an interview this morning. It looks a lot like this market and Strategy are cooked. I don’t see how Saylor doesn’t get sued by his shareholders for all his preferred offerings at this point. Hopefully he has some of that $700+ million earmarked for a weekend pump…
Saylor said in his tweet on Nov 14, 2025 that "
We bought bitcoin every day this week."
He is not missing out on any opportunity to buy Bitcoin whether it's up or down in price.
That is all he can do. So he likely will buy this weekend too right? Not sure if you were trying to have a gotcha moment there or what… He keeps saying he can’t be liquidated, but he sure as hell can send his stock price to $0, get sued, lose, be forced to sell his BTC, and crash the market. Dumb people (you know who you are) think he can’t be liquidated. Anyone with a brain realizes he can be forced to sell by a judge and most likely will after a painful legal battle if his stock price continues to plummet.
A lot of "what ifs" in there, Mr. Legal expert.

5. Post 66050828 (unedited backup) (by ABCbits) (scraped on Sat Nov 15 09:23:25 CET 2025) in Filters work! Prove me wrong!:
Not really. As long as they don't underpay on TX fee rate, their TX will be included as soon as there are miner/mining pool who're willing to include their TX.
Yes, that is true but it doesn't take into account how filters work.
When your node filters out a tx, you simply don't add it to your mempool, and you don't relay it to other nodes.
Once a miner has found a block, he propagates it to the nodes.
--snip--
I'm already aware about how Compact Block works. But FWIW,
1. Example TX you initially mentioned propagated by some node, since mempool.space doesn't state it's not seen in mempool For reference,
https://mempool.space/tx/fd21b79f47ab93c23f0fa4e46f3fcf6b4d2e0b2f33c6035e5b0c45f4bf94b28c is an example of TX that not seen in mempool.
2. Based on your example TX and
https://slipstream.mara.com/, the total fee remain not significant compared with total block.
I suggest you look into BitcoinMechanic channel on YouTube. Maybe start watching his videos starting from 7-8 months ago.
No thanks, i prefer use resource such as
https://learnmeabitcoin.com/ and
https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook that are more structured with less ambiguous title and description.
Whenever two miners at the two extremes of the network find a block at the same time, that is a soft fork.

8. Post 66050396 (unedited backup) (by Hypnotizer) (scraped on Sat Nov 15 06:23:38 CET 2025) in Czech National bank bought Bitcoin for the first time :
The fact that Czech National Bank bought million dollars of Bitcoin is highly important since it shows that they have officially accepted Bitcoin as reserve currency, and it is no longer simple guess. This action of central bank of country makes Bitcoin look more real to other governments and is in line with local trend in Prague, where big number of businesses already accept Bitcoin, which means that this action can cause use of digital assets by more countries and bigger groups in Europe.
No they haven’t make bitcoin an official reserve, this purchase was meant to study how bitcoin works and the blockchain.
Read the quote below to understand their reason for the purchase.
I share BlackHatCoiner's scepticism, but at the same time I see it as good news. A million is peanuts for a national bank, but it fits in with an open-minded approach to the crypto space. I would love to see the Bank of Spain do the same.
Czech Central Bank Becomes First Central Bank to Buy BitcoinThe good.
Approved by the bank board on Oct. 30, the pilot is designed to give the central bank hands-on experience with blockchain-based assets, which it says could reshape how payments and financial systems operate in the future.
The bad (for some).
The total amount invested will not be actively increased, said the bank, and the acquisition was made outside of the bank's existing international reserves.
So, they are not going to build a reserve, actively buying, DCAing, but they show an open mind to the space that I don't see in much of the rest of the EU.

Buying $110 + $3/month in lottery tickets is much more likely to change your life than spending that amount on mining.
With $110 + $3/month, you buy something around one lottery ticket once a month in real life, but with the same money you buy a lottery ticket every day on bitcoin.
Edit:
Not only is the likelihood of winning the lottery many times greater than finding a block, but the prizes are lot more than 3 BTC. If you want to throw away small amounts of money for a negligible chance of winning a big amount of money, the lottery is the better option.
If you play once, then sure, the lottery has better ratio of chance to win and reward. But, it's a lot more expensive over the long term to play lottery every day for the rest of your life, in comparison with a bitcoin miner. A bitcoin miner might have worse ratio, but it's a lot cheaper to play forever.
It earns around 11 cents in btc a day.
Put a bitaxe at viabtc.com set the withdraw to 0.001btc and you will get 0.001 in a really long time.
It's a perfectly painless dca and hodl.
And while you are at it open a PayPal account buy $110 In btc and and $3 a month In btc
Finally buy a second bittaxe and solo mine.
The three above are affordable

Anything above zero? Here's the way I see it: a Bitaxe Gamma 601 costs around $110 on Amazon; it hashes 1 TH/s and burns around 17 watt, which comes at around $3 per month on an average of $0.20 per kWh. This is something around one billionth of the total hashrate.
I don't really care how probable it is. I know for a fact that I can live a hundred lives, and it will still probably not have found a block. However, there's a miniscule probability that can change my life. Whether I have those $110 or not, it won't change my life, but there's a tiny chance that without the $110, my life changes forever. So why not get at least one Bitaxe 601?
I suggest that you buy lottery tickets instead.
Buying $110 + $3/month in lottery tickets is much more likely to change your life than spending that amount on mining.

Question for LFC/OG: at what point would you buy back in if uppity were to resume? 130? 140? High quality panty twister flush this is, if it turns out
I wouldn’t buy back in if the price went up anytime soon. I would sell more. I’m a four year cycle guy and we are smack in the middle of sell season, not to mention if you buy when the price goes up and sell when it goes down then you are doing it wrong.
Generally speaking you are correct that it is better to buy your cornz on the way down and sell on the way up, yet if a person is just starting out in bitcoin, he likely has to buy at any price, since he is not going to know if the price is going to go up or down
At the same time, once a person accumulates enough coin, then he has more options in regards to how to manage his holdings.
If a guy is still trying to accumulate more coin, it can be problematic to sell during the process that you are accumulating coin, and even more problematic to believe that you will be able to buy back cheaper, when that might not be possible... So there tends to be a need to accumulate coins for a while first before selling any.
I love the insinuation that I would chase profits though… I’m guessing you underestimate the amount of BTC I am still holding.
It might not be a problem if you are hedging your bets instead of fucking around trying to overly sell too much too soon with an expectation of buying back lower, when that might not happen. Yet, if you are otherwise managing your holdings by hedging, I don't have any problem with that.
Part of the problem that I see with many of your posts, you tend to present matters as if they were black and white, and as if you were ONLY doing one thing, and then so when someone tries to get specifics out of you then you seem to change your story - when you probably could have been a bit more reasonable in your presentation in the first place rather than having to run correctives.
I have to admit - what you posted is enlightening! Shows how wrong so many investing experts have been over the previous years.
What I find interesting is how many of the OGs here get all alarmed and depressed when the price of Bitcoin goes down a significant amount.
You find WO OG sentiment interesting because you are just making shit up.
WO OG sentiment is not much different than regular bitcoin holder sentiment.
You are reading too much into a situation if you are trying to proclaim that there is something more emotional and/or more panicking about the OGs in these here parts in regards to their (our) bitcoin holdings, you are just projecting some kind of a ongoing disgruntled status spin rather than serving as some kind of a neutral outside observer.
You would certainly think the OGs here should know its typical for Bitcoin to be very volatile and when macroeconomics is thrown into the mix it can be extremely volatile - but it always bounces back, yet you wouldn't know listening to some of the OGs here...
Bitcoin is not guaranteed to bounce back... but yeah, OG's here continue to be invested in bitcoin.
I have not seen any OG's mindrust yet, even though from time to time, we will see some variation of a mindrust incident, even though I suspect that many members are not going to be as open about their panick and their bad reasons as mindrust was back in March 2020.
Seems to me that many of the OGs here are weak-minded and not very strong advocates of Bitcoin's future...
You are too disgruntled to be credible, and also you have shown yourself as a liar, as someone who gets quite emotional and as a member who deletes his earlier posts. Those are not characteristics that help you in your credibility.. .. even if you have been at least presenting your ideas more regularly - yet frequently still getting caught with the presentation of bad information, such as your providing links to articles without knowing basic facts in regards to the substantive assertions of such articles.
So much winning.
You should feel good that you are hedged.
Why so bitter? You hedged yourself. Most similarly situated folks did not hedge.
JJG I hope you are at winning end now???
Another win expected
Too early to call it with any high degree of confidence, and likely not feeling as confident in recent times, yet surely sometimes bitcoin goes through some difficult to tolerate corrections... and yeah, sometimes it will take time to recover from such corrections, if a recovery might be in the cards.. perhaps?
In the recovery scenario, there are a variety of options.
one option is that the price recovers fairly quickly and we are back to testing ATH prices within a few weeks.
Another option is that recovery takes a few months and drags into 2026, which could still allow me to win the bet.
another option is that recovery drags out but we do not get an all time high until after April 1, 2026, which means I would lose the bet even though recovery ended up largely NOT causing any major damage besides shaking out some of the folks who were overly tied to (and bet on) bitcoin being on a schedule in which they concluded that it had to peak in this calendar year.
Those would likely be the main recovery scenarios.. Of course, there are other scenarios, besides recovery scenarios.
Rumor on X that Saylor selling 33K BTC ?

MSTR's company market capitalization ($59.92 billion as of right now) fell below the value of its Bitcoin holdings ($66.15 billion), a first for the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder.

Apparently you are too lazy or too stupid to have any reasonable degree of logical reasoning! Don't be a ridiculous asshole like OOM and JJG! You're better than that, or so I thought!
I'm not going to fact-check and update information for up-to-the-minute conditions that are quoted in an article that is now two days old.
Such as this:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/microstrategy-briefly-worth-less-bitcoin-202801679.htmlYes, Strategy's (MSTR) market cap has fallen at this time below the value of its Bitcoin holdings, which indicates the market is pricing in corporate and dilution risks higher than the value of its digital assets. This rare event, a temporary negative premium, has caused the stock to trade at a lower valuation than its underlying Bitcoin asset value recently today, despite usually trading at a premium. Bitcoin at $124k will equal MSTR's full market cap - but o
f course MSTR has great value besides just its BTC holdings - MSTR is worth many billions with no Bitcoin at all... I largely quoted your whole post based on your inclination to delete posts (otherwise I did not really consider it to be worth showing all of it), and also to show your seeming ongoing desire to argue for the mere sake of it.
Even though MSTR has maintained a business outside of its bitcoin holdings, I suspect that the various bitcoin-related products has dwarf its other business operations, but yeah some number goes in there for the non-bitcoin portion of its business and it seems to me that even Saylor said that MSTR's involvement in bitcoin has helped to breath life into other parts of its business because of MSTR has gotten a lot of attention based on its involvement in bitcoin.. yet the other aspect of its business still likely constitutes quite a minor part of what they are doing and how they are bringing in money and/or allocating their time, energy and money.
We dropping another shot at 92.5k coming up or down?
The price of Bitcoin is now somewhat stable and the next drop may be $86k and the more the price of Bitcoin drops, the more opportunities we will have to buy Bitcoin. Because now the price of Bitcoin has become so expensive that not everyone can buy a good amount of Bitcoin. I am very happy to see the drop in the price of Bitcoin because I am waiting for it to go below $70k and from then on I will start buying Bitcoin which will continue until the entire bear season. I have seen many dips in Bitcoin before but I could not take full advantage of them but now I will not make that mistake again.
You likely are ongoingly making the same mistake, since you are waiting for dips that might not come rather than buying bitcoin regularly.
You have been registered on the forum since November 2016 (congratulation to 9 years on the forum), so if you had just stopped fucking around trying to figure out dips or not and then just bought regularly and consistently, then merely buying $50 per week would have had resulted in around $23.5 k invested and around 3.2 BTC.. which truly would be a good place to be right now.
Buy dips that might not come does not tend to be a good strategy, especially for anyone who considers themselves to be either a no coiner or a low coiner who is trying to accumulate more coins.
In essence, the better resolution in bitcoin has tended to be ongoing actions to buy rather than fucking around waiting for dips that may or may not come.

For some 70k works.
92.5 buy hodl
88.5 buy hodl
84.5 buy hodl
80.5 buy hodl
77.5 buy hodl
74.5 buy hodl
70.5 buy hodl
All of the above work for me.
70k to 60k maybe buy at 68,66,64,62,60 and hodl.
In this case (if any), you might not be a good role model Philip.
Sure, your buying on the dip is currently working for you, but guys who are fucking around waiting, they are likely going to be better off by just ongoingly buying rather than making similar mistakes as you in regards to not ongoingly buying.
In the end, guys can do whatever they like, even dumb shit... Maybe they will get lucky, and maybe not. I, personally, consider waiting to be a bad strategy in regards to accumulating bitcoin especially for either a no coiner or a low coiner, and many times even low coiners, do not even recognize and appreciate themselves as a low coiner, so they spend way too much time waiting and not enough time acting (meaning buying).

No, this is just a chain split.
A chain split is a fork of soft fork. Ask Andreas Antonopolos:
https://youtu.be/rpeceXY1QBMA soft fork is when the network is split into two different networks where one invalidates something that was previously valid. For example, if some nodes want to invalidate any transaction containing OP_RETURN, then that is a soft fork.
Yeah, that's an other form of sift fork. Though I think your description is flawed, but I digress.
What if I'm paying 1 satoshi to a thousand witness hashes? What then?
I assume you are referring to the segwit size filter I mentioned earlier. I'm out of my dept on how that is calculated on Knots. But essentially, if you have a tx with two inputs and two outputs, and a segwit discount of 400kB, something is really wrong here. It's clear that even 1kB would be plenty sufficient unless you were trying to shove a jpeg in there.
Now, if you have a 1000 witness hashes? Not sure how the filter would address that.
You keep whining about OP_RETURN, and how filters are supposed to make it more expensive to spam, while OP_RETURN is making 4x more expensive to use for spamming arbitrary data.
And that is my entire point here. Existing spammers are not likely to move to op_return and lose the witness discount to pay 4x more money. Even a few core devs agree with me that existing spammers will not switch to op_return, and it won't fix the UTXO set bloat.
So it's very clear this 100,000 bytes op_return is creating a new use care for spam while doing absolutely nothing about existing cases of spam.
So you tell me: what genuine bitcoin user needs 100,000 bytes of arb data in op_return?

You are correct. Bitcoin did not cause the perilous situation in which we find ourself, even though it seems that bitcoin is rescue boat that could well help a lot of folks who might be able to recognize and appreciate bitcoin, even if they ONLY take a partial position in it, that partial position could be enough to at least keep them from getting too much destroyed by the various ways in which any of us are being ongoingly robbed through various fiat systems.. and even when matters are looking worse and we might be losing faith.. the solutions that the powers that be identify, pursue and likely fall into are not going to necessarily help us in regards to the value that we still continue to hold in various fiat systems.. even though there may still be some necessary evil that we keep some of our value within the various fiat systems.. since there likely is not enough bitcoin infrastructure in place for us to completely move into bitcoin without any longer needing to use fiat systems.

You think you can scare me? Hodling.
Those kinds of rumors were spread about Saylor when we dropped from mid $30ks to $20ks and even below $20k, and they were pure bullshit... which is likely the same right now.
I get the sense that various of Saylor's financial instruments have put him (MSTR) into a position where they might have to sell under certain kinds of market conditions, such as long downity periods, yet I doubt that it would be in his interest (or MSTR's interest) to sell on the way down, even if he could drive the price down and then buy back cheaper.. yet there is always a certain level of distrust of folks who control that many BTC (or any other asset for that matter).
Rumor on X that Saylor selling 33K BTC ?

I am pretty sure that MSTR holds more than 640k BTC..., which would be valued at near $61 billion for BTC prices of around $95k, so the numbers that are resulting in $46 billion as if they were MSTR's total BTC stash are wrong somewhere along the way..

Alternatively,
2) ATH after 2025, yet before 2nd quarter of 2026?
3) ATH after 2nd quarter of 2026, yet before end of 2026?
4) ATH in 2027 or after that?
5) the ATH for our lil cornz of $126,272 is already in. In other words, no more ATH for dee cornz, ever?

He can use another swap service like the one on Cake wallet for it. I have not used it before but I have seen some people recommended it on this forum and no one make complaints about it yet.
What he has to do is to provide his receiving address and the coin he wants to convert from and send it to an address the swap service will provide. He can still make use of the cold wallet. I think Trezor Suite also has swap service like this.

Good, but the amount is pretty low for a central bank and other European countries are currently not in favor of doing the same.
Nowadays a random entity buys 10 BTC, and all of a sudden, they're "all in for it."
Just because a bank bought some bitcoin, you think that means the European countries started to "fully embracing it"? To me it seems like countries of the European Union are the last to fully adopt it to their treasuries, judging by the regulations they urge to pass. Most people in authority positions are either completely ignorant of what's coming, or they're paid actors who continue spreading FUD about bitcoin and supporting nonsensical Keynesian / socialist policies.
Exactly, this is nothing significant in neither the local scheme of things or in the grand scheme of things. The only reason why this is news at all is because it is the national bank.
This is absolutely some great news worth sharing indeed, what this simply means is that aside some other countries that currently hold bitcoin in their government level, one country has been added to the list, this shows that Bitcoin has gone, reached placed and it's taking over gradually, I believe that before the national bank went ahead to purchase bitcoin worth $1 million dollar, the government of the country have given approval, maybe in the next bull run, we should be expecting another country that may likely officially announced bitcoin as a legal tender...
Bitcoin is here to say and no doubt about it, it's true that manipulators may try to make this journey of adoption a bit difficult by manipulating the price of Bitcoin to put fear in the minds of new incoming investors, but surely at the end, bitcoin will surely win..
No, it is not really. If you had read some previous replies and clarifications in this thread you would have understood that this is a pilot program with no intent of increasing the quantity of Bitcoin bought. Therefore, this is neutral news at best and no news at all. Let's not turn into shitcoiners who tend to equate pilot programs to actual adoptions or partnership with entities. Once a central bank allocates at least 5 to 10% of their reserves to Bitcoin then we can talk about this being significant in any sense. As it is now, it is almost entirely meaningless.

Okay. So if filters don't work and the spammers can go around them, why can't Citrea do the same? Why does Citrea need the filters dropped in order to do op_return of more than 83 bytes?
I don't bother research how Citrea works. But in general, some sidechain / L2 would submit certain data to Bitcoin blockchain at regular internal (such as every day or every 144 blocks). If they do that with non-standard TX, their TX can't be included in block in regular interval. It's because they need to hope the mining pool/miner would mine a block as soon as after they submit their non standard TX.
Huh? You do know that you can overpay a transaction just to make sure it stays into the candidate block in case the network becomes more congested and is being dropped to the second candidate block, right?
Yes, I am aware there are other reasons to overpay the miner fee. This doesn't deter from the fact that something that gets filtered out will require you pay a higher fee for it.
Not really. As long as they don't underpay on TX fee rate, their TX will be included as soon as there are miner/mining pool who're willing to include their TX.

Yes, I am aware there are other reasons to overpay the miner fee. This doesn't deter from the fact that something that gets filtered out will require you pay a higher fee for it.
A miner is at risk of having his block orphaned if the other mining pools have a different mempool, because they need to download those extra transactions and during that time they can find a block and broadcast that instead. However, that risk is irrelevant to the nodes. All nodes might run Knots, but if the main mining pools run Core 30, then there is no tangible risk, as they are well connected to reduce that potential risk. They do have a great monetary benefit by including spam, though.
What you are talking about refers to mining being too centralized. It's a big problem. It needs to be addressed. But trying to make the nodes bend to the will of the too centralized miners matching our mempool close to what the miners what, that is a catastrophic way to go about it.
It's basically saying "Okay miners, you want to mine spam for profit, we are just going to conform to your desires and standardize our mempool to match yours."
If you can't see the flaw in that rational, I can't help you.
Also, interestingly, miners don't use core. They use Peter Todd's OpenRelay implementation. Which is optimized to go around what the majority of the nodes want. This makes it blatantly obvious core is not working for us, they are working for miners and spammers, against the nodes.
Also, as I've mentioned many times already, what you consider "spam" can take other forms that are much cheaper to use, and impossible to distinguish from regular transactions.
I'm sorry to have to explain this to you, but if you are sending a tx with a 4kb witness, or something that clearly gets identified as an ordinal, rune, brc token, or an op_return with 100kb of data, you are clearly a spammer.
You can try to send an ordinal or rune into a fake pubkey. But that will still get filtered as an ordinal or rune.
And you'll probably push "spammers" toward that direction if you keep being hysteric about a non-issue.
I'm getting very annoyed with the idea that we have to bend the knee to spammers and give them whatever they want by fear they might go to a fake pubkey and cause UTXO bloat.
Newsflash my friend: the UTXO set more than tripled in size in the last 2-3 years. All the while we were bending the knee to spammers and doing absolutely nothing about spam. Clearly that approach is not working.

They have not gotten it to he fully into it, rather they have gotten it for so they can carry out experiments with the transactions. One thing refreshing about the banks aims is that they are open to using it in the future and credits to the governor who spoke about using Bitcoin as a means of payment in the future. I am super proud of him because politicians in the UK do not want to entertain the thoughts. They didn't just buy Bitcoin but some other stablecoins attached to it. I do not consider the European bank stupid for their statement, they know bitcoin to be thriving investment and assest, they are simply stubborn to accept the truth.

But it is much better than the US, the US only relies on its confiscated Bitcoin which is put into their strategic reserve while there is no purchase, and this Czech country is different, guessing to make a purchase for the first lagkah, although we know that we will not know how the future will be, but certainly a country makes a purchase to start its journey? don't you have positive thoughts first.
And to be honest we don't know what the background of this country is buying bitcoin, how for its investment planning and so on, so don't be too quick to give a negative response.

For those who don't know, there is the European Union and something called the eurozone. The Czech Republic is a member of the EU, but it is not a member of the eurozone, which means that it does not use the euro, nor is it under the authority of the European Central Bank.
I share BlackHatCoiner's scepticism, but at the same time I see it as good news. A million is peanuts for a national bank, but it fits in with an open-minded approach to the crypto space. I would love to see the Bank of Spain do the same.
~snip~
The Spanish central bank would first need to seek permission from the ECB for this, and I'm sure you know what Christine Lagarde thinks about cryptocurrencies in general. So you can dream about it if you think it's something positive, but I think that central banks should not have anything to do with Bitcoin because their modus operandi is 100% centralist and if they ever exposed themselves by buying the same, I'm sure they would look for a way to influence BTC developers and demand certain
adjustments.

Just because a bank bought some bitcoin, you think that means the European countries started to "fully embracing it"?
I don’t think they've “fully embraced it” but I think this is a kinda starting point for European countries to start the process of embracing it..we might as well hear some more news about them embracing it in the future, the only barrier currently is time but I’m pretty certain that the time will come.
To me it seems like countries of the European Union are the last to fully adopt it to their treasuries, judging by the regulations they urge to pass.
Yes they’re, their so called “cautious approach” to cryptocurrencies is what makes them still not in the race to fully adopt it in their reserves and treasuries and this can probably lead them to losing a lot of opportunities in this space.

27. Post 66038067 (unedited backup) (by DPHOR) (scraped on Wed Nov 12 08:52:55 CET 2025) in You can’t tax an economy into prosperity:
I think the biggest error in the socialist thought process, is that they view the economy as a lever, where you can increase tax on X by 5%, and you'll get 10% of Y as an outcome. The truth is that obviously, the economy is not a lever. People aren't just chess pieces that you move on a board, with their desires ignored. Enforcing a certain tax, does not mean that everyone will just passively accept it. Some will leave the country, others will evade their tax, or increase prices on Z, etc. The economy is so complicated that thinking you can "manage it" is a sign of complete arrogance.
That is true and is also affects the cost of living and everything over that particular country as the economy will be too difficult to handle and scale through, those who are getting rich are being richer why those who are getting poor are even falling into abject poverty.
There should be a level of taxation where if they keep taxing their her citizens they will also bounce back to things they produces or sales as they would want to cover up their taxes, to me majorly companies and industries should be that taxed reducing some percentage to individuals.
28. Post 66037787 (unedited backup) (by Boiboi20) (scraped on Wed Nov 12 06:30:50 CET 2025) in The day the simulation glitched:
Bitcoin isn't an investment.
It's an evacuation machine from modern slavery with debt instead of chains, HR departments instead of priests, and antidepressants instead of hope.
Bitcoin is freedom! This is what I have come to understand. I cannot remember keeping substantial fiat in my bank account anymore except those for my day-to-day activities and that saved me from constant high bank charges, account maintenance fee, email and SMS charges, ATM service charge, unending daily and monthly withdrawal limit in my account and many other bogus charges just to exploit people. Bitcoin solved all these plus more and knowing about Bitcoin have been my greatest achievement and the best thing that have happened to me.
I feel you on that bitcoin really does bring a sense of freedom no more crazy bank fees hidden charges or annoying withdrawal limits it is such a good feeling to actually have control over your own money without bank talking a cut every time honestly learning about bitcoin is one of those thing that completely changes how you see money and freedom

30. Post 66036721 (unedited backup) (by PepeLapiu) (scraped on Tue Nov 11 21:20:43 CET 2025) in Core dev Murch deciding policy?:
Knots is being maintained by mainly Luke who commits to main branch directly. I don't think most Knotzis understand what this mean in terms of security, and it shows
All that Luke does is adding more user configurable filters. And those filter are more easily configurable. Knots doesn't assume every user knows how to edit conf files.
But, to follow the same line of reasoning, you can also configure Core to "filter out spam", if you like. Just run it with "-datacarriersize 83" to revert to the limit enforced by previous versions.
Yes, I'm also aware that core is bent on blowing up the filter by setting the default to 100,000 bytes (or 1250x the previous setting). This shows that core has no desire to fight spam, and even go as far as catering to spam by providing them with new use cases while doing nothing about the existing cases.
And also, you're not filtering out anything by running either client. Just a reminder that bitcoin is a permissionless network.
Until core spamware edition, 99%+ of the op_returns were under 83 bytes. That shows you the filter did it's job very well for over 11 years while keeping the network permissionless money, not permissionless jpegs.
31. Post 66036528 (unedited backup) (by PepeLapiu) (scraped on Tue Nov 11 20:24:13 CET 2025) in Nick Szabo weighs in, recommends Knots over Core v30:
Is your position so weak that your have to take everything literally in order to disagree with me? No, I did not sign anything notarized, with small print or otherwise. Too bad the phrasing went right over your head.
because it is permissionless.
Permisssionless money, not permission less file hosting service.
You simply downloaded wallet software and received bitcoin.
That was once true. Now I don't only receive bitcoin, I also receive, store and relay any sort of file any stranger sees fit to make me host and share on their behalf.
And just like you permissionlessly opted-into it, you can opt-out as well, if you feel you're engaging in morally questionable network.
That is precisely and exactly my point. Bitcoin needs a large amount of nodes to remain decentralized, especially in the face of an increasingly centralized mining industry.
Adding unnecessary moral and/or legal risks to running a node is not condusive to remain decentralized.
Putting asides the fact that you can just run a pruned node,
Weakening the decentralization of the nodes by deincentivizing people to run a full node is not acceptable.
the compromise for having a decentralized, permissionless monetary network is that some people do have to use their disk space for other people's transactions, and thus, other people's data.
And thanks to core spamware 30, I now have to store more spam and less monetary transactions.
Keeping the existing filters and adding on more filters would be an effective way to greatly reduce the amount of spam and arbitrary data random strangers make me hold and distribute for them.
Otherwise, it can't work.
Seriously? You are telling me that the only way for bitcoin to work is for us to open the door to any and all random strangers making us host any file for them, no matter how illicit and filthy those files are?
You are telling me the only way for bitcoin to work requires that I host and distribute your dick pics and child porn?
Instead of accepting this compromise for the larger benefit of opting out of a morally disastrous monetary system, you're focusing on a non-issue that's being into bitcoin since 2009.
Pure absolute bullshit! We have been aggressively filtering spam since the start. It's only recently that some of you have decided to actually bend the knee to spammers. Shame on you.
32. Post 66035906 (unedited backup) (by WeThePe0ple) (scraped on Tue Nov 11 17:30:49 CET 2025) in Best hardware wallet for me?:
I don't know anything about XRP, but I think the best option for custodying altcoins is Trezor as it is open-source and thoroughly reviewed. For bitcoin, there are great options for airgapped setup, like SeedSigner (preferred), ColdCard and Passport Core.
I need a different hardware wallet with instant swap options for about 7 altcoins, some top 20 and 3 or 4 top 100. Like Virtuals Protocol, Aerodrome Finance, and Pyth Network.
What do you mean "instant swap options"? If you already have an airgapped setup, what else do you need? If you need to frequently trade, then what you need is not a cold storage.
In NGRAVE, I can swap my tokens in coldstorage (XRP and BTC) directly from coldstorage via a third party that they work with.
I don't trade frequently with these 2. In fact XRP will never be sold and BTC will only be sold if we hit $150k this cycle. I will swap it for stables directly from coldstorage.
This airgapped device only supports some of the top 10 tokens and all ERC tokens. So not most of the altcoins in the top 100 I mentioned.
I want to get these off of the exchange and swap them from coldstorage too.
On december 31st of 2025, the IRS in my country will start monitoring all balances across DEX'es in my country.
It is a direct attack on privacy. I need something safe that supports all of my altcoins, and allows trading stables.

He can use another swap service like the one on Cake wallet for it. I gave not used it before but I have seen some peot recommended it on this forum and no one make complaints a bout it yet.
What he has to do is to provide his receiving address and the coin he wants to convert from to an address the swap service will provide. He can still make use of the cold wallet. I think Trezor has swap service like this.
34. Post 66034339 (unedited backup) (by ABCbits) (scraped on Tue Nov 11 09:31:43 CET 2025) in What's the state of Testnet3? How do we get more of those Coins for testing?:
Why testnet3, though? Block rewards have dropped to near zero, and it might soon be abandoned by Bitcoin Core. Testnet4 solves the mining vulnerability that went the network decades into the future, and I'm sure you can get dozens a lot easier than in testnet3.
Checking on Altquick, it's also cheaper than testnet3 for some reason.
I also wondered about that. My best guess is his tool configured or only works for testnet3.
Times ago, I also wanted testnet coins for some projects. Finally what I realized was testing with real coins is easier than finding and begging testnet coins.
It's a shame, you could have run your own regtest or signet network[1] instead. While these days you could make TX with 0.1 sat/vB, the cost could accurate faster than you think.

In the meetups I've been in, they mock anyone who's "concerned" about spam.
You and I certainly don't hang around the same meet-ups.
Just go on YouTube and find a video that says anything about the core/knots subject. If they say anything good about core, they get hammered.

While you're waiting for "the right time",
it's proving there never was one.
Buy bitcoin.
Not later. Not when you have an "easier schedule."
BUY IT NOW.
That's the point. The best approach has always been to start small and in doing so with consistency. We all should be glad that investing in bitcoin has been made easier through DCAing. Anyone who genuinely wants to invest in bitcoin has no excuse for not investing at all. If they claim that they are waiting for the perfect time to buy bitcoins, we should just know without stressing ourselves that they they are not ready to invest but just making excuses. There is no perfect time to buy bitcoins.
38. Post 66032652 (unedited backup) (by gmaxwell) (scraped on Mon Nov 10 20:51:14 CET 2025) in Revoke Gloria Zhao's permission to accept changes to Core?:
There's this flawed perception that bitcoin is somewhat a "democracy", and Bitcoin Core developers' positions are selected based on public merit, and are subject to scrutiny. In reality, Bitcoin Core is an open-source project where influence is determined by informal hierarchies, long-term involvement, and trust among a relatively small group of contributors. If people can't grasp this simple fact, they have every right to stop running Bitcoin Core, and go run something else.
It's s surprising how many people 'in bitcoin' are just utterly obsessed with controlling the choices and actions of unrelated third parties. Core devs are perhaps a little at fault for being too sparing in handing out well deserved "go fuck yourself" responses.

Bitcoin isn't an investment.
It's an evacuation machine from modern slavery with debt instead of chains, HR departments instead of priests, and antidepressants instead of hope.
I might not have the knowledge of Bitcoin's structure in full because there is still more to learn about Bitcoin, but I can't agree with this statement because to the best of the knowledge of the majority here Bitcoin is seen as an investment.
No investment has assured profits as you could make losses or profits in the long run. It could make the poor rich and the rich broke, that's the system it runs.
It was a nice write-up anyway and I believe you poured in your soul into this. Not just everything adds up for me.
The ways described in the OP are idealistic, as the BTC itself is - much more people would look at something that may bring big profit to them only in such a way, don't you think?
But overall, BTC truly does allow you to get off the hook of the official systems and get yourself an alternative to them, the one where you are in charge, basically.

Amazon sent me a gift card for some reason, and I'm looking to spend it on some good book (or books). So, I'd appreciate it if you shared an insightful book you read recently.
- I like politics, philosophy, society, economics, psychology.
- I have enough Bitcoin books, so I'm looking for something else.
Drop your favorite books.

Have you tried reading “pride and prejudice” it is very interesting and I believe you enjoy it.

I'm reading on Reddit that it changed syntax. Try using the pay-to-many feature this way:
tb1q4gk0qkchl3y3klagv2frf8hs56re68qxtfjd5k, 0.001
script(OP_RETURN deadbeef), 0
Thanks this one worked. It was syntax eror.
