2. Post 66889730 (unedited backup) (by Fiatless) (scraped on Mon Jun 29 19:19:43 CEST 2026) in Why Youth Unemployment Remains High In Many Countries :
Unemployment remains high mainly because:
- Minimum wage hikes and high payroll taxes push companies to hire fewer juniors.
- Too many people chase the same office jobs, while trades go unfilled.
https://www.finalroundai.com/blog/ai-tech-layoffs-september-2025You forgot to add the emergence of artificial intelligence. In recent times, many companies are sacking workers because their tasks can be done by AI tools. AI technology is not producing as many jobs as it takes away from humans. This has contributed to unemployment.
3. Post 66889531 (unedited backup) (by Emjay24) (scraped on Mon Jun 29 18:24:25 CEST 2026) in America sells outcomes. China sells solutions.:
Instead of China asking, "How can we shape our products based on human emotions?" they seem to be making products that actually solve problems for less money. I'm not saying American products are not solving problems. But China seems to focus on that more. Take, for instance, the quick delivery of your coffee wherever you are. The cheaper price because not everyone can afford that expensive coffee. And so, with this, they have been able to brand themselves differently. Also, BYD isn't left out. Their focus seems to be producing cheaper electric vehicles that will compete with the big electric vehicle brands.
China thrives in production since they can make any quality of products for you, whether high or low or even very low qualities, you just need to place the demand and get it produced for you in the specified quality, that is another reason for the assumed low cost of production. The cheaper priced coffee sometimes doesn't mean quality, it's only tailored according to your budget.
So in the long run, which marketing idea will survive?
The country that will survive is the one with the best sales. Sales isn't "convincing to buy". Sales is understanding the problem a fellow person may have, communicating the problem with him, and after he's confirmed the problem, offer and deliver him the solution. That's it.
Sales is the best paying job, because it solves the world's biggest problem. Communicating with strangers and making their lives better. Civilizations with the best sales are those that will survive, because understanding and solving people's problems is what allows for economic growth. Even the most competent as a civilization, highly advanced in terms of technology, if the people fail to communicate between themselves, they will not succeed in thriving as a civilization.
You have a fairly good point, selling is different from marketing. While marketing tries to convince you to buy, selling makes you see that you really need that product because you see it as a solution to an existing problem you've. Most people often confuse marketing with selling and in the world we have more marketers and few people actually selling which makes any quality sales person very high in demand and earn a lot of money.
Organizations with better sales people always record more sales for a product, even if it has less quality compared to their competitors with more marketers.
On the other hand, I believe the countries that has a cheaper production cost would sell the more since a majority of people prefer affordable commodities, even though it isn't the best quality which makes importers to dive more into products with lower production costs.
4. Post 66889335 (unedited backup) (by Greg Tonoski) (scraped on Mon Jun 29 17:32:38 CEST 2026) in [AMA] I am a proponent of the BIP-110 (a.k.a RDTS) - ask me anything:
Fallacy (straw man argument). Even if there are some nodes that don't validate all the rules, it doesn't mean that all blocks they don't reject are valid in the Bitcoin P2P network. For example, pre-SegWit nodes may accept (instead of rejecting) invalid blocks.
If majority of hashrate was mining post-SegWit invalid blocks, then the pre-SegWit network would carry the most hashrate. The reason SegWit did not result in a chain split is because it received hashrate majority support, and post-SegWit nodes enforced their rules on the pre-SegWit network. Thank you for confirming that you need hashrate majority or else it is a chain split.
You got it backwards. It's not like "hashrate majority" delivered a verdict of chain-split-not and support for SegWit. It is more akin to "hashrate majority" obeyed the verdict delivered by the network (even though hashrate oligarchs had signalled their opposition before).
not by the cartel of mining pools or some central committee of hash-providers at their sole discretion
You need some miners on your side. (...) If you manage a company, and fire 99% employees, then you have to do their job by yourself.
Disagree. Anybody can be a miner in Bitcoin and so you don't need to ask specifically Foundry or Ant Pool or MARA for their permission in order for Bitcoin to thrive (including soft-forks activation). There isn't any privilege designed for an oversized miner in Bitcoin.
5. Post 66888678 (unedited backup) (by Satofan44) (scraped on Mon Jun 29 14:22:13 CEST 2026) in Africa,s problem is trusting paper degree over skills and knowledge :
Why is this framed as an Africa problem? Isn't this already happening in Europe and America too? Plenty of graduates there are stuck with degrees and no jobs while companies still demand certificates for basic roles.
"Inconsistent government support and limited funding"? You are not entitled to any funding if you have a shitty idea and mediocre execution.
It makes you wonder how "Bitcoiners" inside this museum piece still buy the notion that the government can fix anything, from a terrible business idea to research that the market did not wish to have in the first place.
Exactly, quite many members here do not even have the most basic understanding of the world -- they are like mindless NPCs that believe the current thing and that governments can or should do various things. Government as a service provider is one of the worst things that has happened to humanity, it is the most inefficient and worst system that exists -- most of its employees represent the worst of the worst that a country has to offer, the least competent, laziest and least educated workers who don't care at all about anything since their job is secure. If you have any system where firing people is difficult (I am looking at EU retards), then the companies or institutions become bureaucratic behemoths full of people who do not contribute almost anything at all to the system. How many times I have observed government employees in various positions relating to computer work, I could replace at least 10 of them working with my left hand and I'd do a better and faster job.
Is been ages since the European Left us to our Faith and up till now w still keep blaming them for Africa underdevelopment where's the real problem is internal crisis, like I side no region in the world is as blessed as Africa but we have the culture of only having a bad leader, our leaders don't care about infrastructural development they are more inclined with election and it other activities instead focusing on the job, being productive and avoidance of possible blame games like shifting blames.
People from play the victim are just uneducated and lowlife cowards. Europe helped Africa a lot despite the damage that it has caused and is not at fault at all for whatever is going on there right now. The fault lies with the leadership and people, not with the past.

7. Post 66886720 (unedited backup) (by eightdots) (scraped on Sun Jun 28 23:06:49 CEST 2026) in Why Youth Unemployment Remains High In Many Countries :
Unemployment remains high mainly because:
- Minimum wage hikes and high payroll taxes push companies to hire fewer juniors.
- Too many people chase the same office jobs, while trades go unfilled.
Because the cost of employing a worker is very high in many countries, companies prefer to employ fewer people. One of the policies that governments should implement to reduce unemployment is to enable employers to employ workers at a lower cost; that is, a price should be determined that does not disadvantage either the worker or the employer.
The fact that jobs requiring manual skills are no longer preferred is also a reason for unemployment. Although the earnings in some regions for these professions are very high, the inability to find workers is a major problem because these professions need to continue.
The reasons you mentioned can be cited as common problems in many countries. Serious efforts must be made to reduce unemployment and increase the incomes of workers. For this to happen, governments need to provide assistance to the market.

Even if Foundry, Ant Pool, F2Pool and MARA together produced invalid blocks, they would neither derail nodes nor impact the chain with their broadcast of invalid blocks. Node runners would still secure the chain.
Some nodes will not run the BIP110 rules. Why do you assume the blocks will be invalid for those nodes? They will only be invalid for the BIP110 nodes.
Fallacy (straw man argument). Even if there are some nodes that don't validate all the rules, it doesn't mean that all blocks they don't reject are valid in the Bitcoin P2P network. For example, pre-SegWit nodes may accept (instead of rejecting) invalid blocks. Bitcoin Knots v29.3.knots20260508 (
https://github.com/bitcoinknots/bitcoin/releases/) and the reference BIP-110 implementation by Dathon Ohm (
https://github.com/dathonohm/bitcoin/releases/) are the only fully validating nodes available. If you want to be sure that a block is valid you need to use them (discard Core because it is obsolescent).
Why do you assume that hashrate could suddenly drop to 1%?
Because only something like 1% or 2% of miners are signalling for BIP-110.
That's why your assumption is false. The BIP-110 (a.k.a. Reduced Data Temporary Soft-fork) is activated by the Bitcoin P2P network participants (in particular node runners) and not by the cartel of mining pools or some central committee of hash-providers at their sole discretion. Bitcoin P2P network has already adopted the BIP-110. SHA-256 hashers are left with the options to either continue operating on the network or point their hash elsewhere, e.g. Bitcoin Cash, their own hard-forked chain and so on. The current level of signalling is irrelevant (and optional).
Both classes of nodes would follow the same chain with the most Proof-of-Work.
Non-BIP-110 blocks will be rejected by BIP-110 clients.
Correct.
You need only one non-BIP-110 transaction, to split the chain.
Incorrect. A non-BIP-110 block (and so an invalid one) with a non-BIP-110 transaction wouldn't cause split of the chain. In actual fact, it could exploit vulnerability of outdated nodes (e.g. Core v30) and trick them into accepting an invalid chain-tip block (unnecessary additional risk of double spending).
Also, the only thing that is needed to fork the chain, is simply not signalling for BIP-110.
Incorrect, again. Invalid blocks don't belong to the Bitcoin P2P network. An invalid block (in violation of the BIP-110) doesn't fork the chain per se. It causes penalty for a node that broadcasts it and may result it disconnecting a rogue/misbehaving node.
Then, upgraded Knots nodes will fork at that point. Because they will reject the chain, which won't signal for BIP-110, which is what 99% of miners are producing here and now.
Incorrect, again. Bitcoin Knots nodes are not programmed to fork off the Bitcoin P2P network. They will reject invalid blocks and at the same time continue the Bitcoin P2P network. BTW there will not be a new chain created by the BIP-110. Also, there will not be a chain rival to BIP-110 created as nobody announced such a plan. Miners will
produce blocks that are compliant to the BIP-110.
But it is only "mandatory" for some Knots nodes, every other node can just ignore it, and follow the hashrate.
Disagree. BIP-110 update is mandatory for all participants of the Bitcoin P2P network, including Knots nodes, Core nodes and so on. If a node doesn't validate a block fully then it is exposed to additional risk. Therefore, the best you can do is to update your node (I recommend the latest Bitcoin Knots version).
Exactly. Having 1% or 2% hashrate on BIP-110 side will just cause an airdrop for all BTC users, because they will have their coins on both chains.
Incorrect. The BIP-110 doesn't cause any airdrop for anybody. It doesn't create another chain.
But if BIP-110 chain will have 0% hashrate instead
False. There isn't any special chain BIP-110 created. (As a side note, a chain has 100% of its hashrate by definition).
some BTC transactions on a non-BIP-110 chain.
Disagree. There will not be "a non-BIP-110 chain" created as nobody announced such a plan.
1. Why do you create fake quote? I'm the one who write those quoted reply, not ertil.
By mistake. Apologies. I have corrected it.
2. You said "correct", but earlier you said it's "Incorrect. A "non-signalling blocks" could either be never produced or produced at any point in time, e.g. in block 961 666.". Why you're not being consistent?
Disagree. I think I was consistent.
3. When i use word "weaker" or "Stronger", i obviously refer to total hashrate or work.
I can't see a question here. I guess my position may be clearer by giving the thesis that a hypothetically heavier (more accumulated work/PoW) chain of BSV doesn't make it Bitcoin, i.e. there may both chains co-exist Bitcoin less heavy and BSV's heavier one.
4. Why do you assume node/miner who don't signal BIP 110 as "dishonest"?
Because such a miner wouldn't play by the rules. Miner must not produce invalid blocks. (Also, miner must not conduct 51% attack.)
9. Post 66885139 (unedited backup) (by Exitoral) (scraped on Sun Jun 28 15:21:49 CEST 2026) in America sells outcomes. China sells solutions.:
One of the comments here actually got me thinking. Maybe America isn't just selling brands after all. Maybe they are selling outcomes, just as he wrote. I want to buttress that point.
Because sales was born in America, and sales is all about selling the outcome, not the product. Think about it. Every time you buy something, ask yourself why are you buying it? There's a reason the entire business model of Google and Meta relies on ads. Marketing moves the world. People buy based on emotion, and justify the purchase with logic.
People don't want to "drink coffee". They want to feel the thirst being saturated from a cold drink. They want to have a chat with a chick in the coffee-shop that serves the coffees. Or they want to wake up and focus on their work. You don't sell coffee by advertising the flavors of the coffee. You sell it by communicating the outcomes.
Let's look at it the way it has always been. People don't buy an iPhone just because they want to make calls or take pictures with it. They purchase it because of what it represents. That's elite-class advertising. They don't just sell products; they sell the idea of what you can become or should be. A king or a queen. Also, for Starbucks, people buy it because of the experience around it, the environment, and most times the status that comes with it.
This made me look at China differently too.
So maybe the real difference is not whether America sells brands while China sells for consumers. Maybe it is how they sell. America sells identity and outcomes, while China sells value and solutions.
So in the long run, which marketing idea will survive?
Or does anyone have another opinion on this matter?
10. Post 66884650 (unedited backup) (by dragonvslinux) (scraped on Sun Jun 28 11:26:07 CEST 2026) in Red trust for nuking a doxx on another forum:
Hi there! You've been invited to participate in this
Request for Feedback (RfF), hence the pings. Due to the inconclusive feedback in Stage 1 & 2, this is currently
Stage 3 of the process in order to determine the following question:
RfF Question: Is this an appropriate use of red trust? Suggested answers, if preferred not to elaborate:
- Yes
- No
- Not interested
- Not sure / phone a friend
- Your answer here
Feedback so far from Stage 1 & 2 based on Vod's DT1 sponsors:
There is also some bonus material at the bottom regarding the neutral tag and doxxing evidence should that tickle your interest

DT voting class as of
last weeks data (excluding members who were pinged as part of Stage 1 & 2 + Vod who can't vote for himself).
Edit: Before you perjure yourself with more contradictions, remember your forum sent me an email for each PM, including the one on Sun, 8 Sept 2024, 04:48
where you gave me permission to use OgNasty's real name. But now you claim I "doxxed" him?
And of course, these type of personal PMs...
i am really sorry to hear all the health and personal issues your fight with oggy caused you.
I couldn't care less what the admin thinks about this or previous communication with you, as he
doesn't determine forum policy. He is literally just "the tech guy", a guy who knows little to nothing about forum politics and drama over here

You
might have been given permission for doxxing by the wrong person in the past, and if so, that permission has since been revoked. Hope that helps clarify things for you. But your doxx of OgNasty and request for personal info on theymos a day prior to that alleged PM (
September 07, 2024, 01:01:01 AM) still remains on there, as the policy wasn't implemented retrospectively it seems. Based on the time-frame, I'm guessing it's to do with that. I won't link directly, but it was your
first post on there that was since moved to the trash bin so easy to locate.
So looks like it's not just me who can prove that yes you have indeed doxxed, but instead anyone with an account there (fyi trash bin is hidden from public view). So that includes lawyers who sign up to the forum in order to verify it, oopsy daisy

Here's a redacted version, just to provide some context for others. I hope this eliminates any doubt over whether Vod would doxx a member of this community on another forum, or request personal info on another:
Note: I'm aware theymos' real name has been posted on here since 2011, I just don't feel the need to share that here as serves no value.Bonus question: Do you guys still think Vod is fit for DT after
pulling a similar stunt on this forum in 2019 ? Unlike last time, Vod is now doubling down on his doxxing. My opinion is that this is shocking behaviour from a DT member and nothing more than retaliatory feedback.
11. Post 66884347 (unedited backup) (by shinratensei_) (scraped on Sun Jun 28 08:08:25 CEST 2026) in Bitcoin ETF is an idea from centralized system :
I don't understand the misunderstanding.
Both a centralized exchange and an ETF promise you bitcoin. A centralized exchange allows you to withdraw, correct. On the other hand, an ETF is more regulated and secured to the owners than a centralized exchange. Regardless, when you use either, you trust they hold what they claim they hold. Both can practice fractional reserve banking.
Bitcoin ETF companies do not promise bitcoin, it is exchanges that promise bitcoin, doing like their customers can trust them, although which might be disappointing. Bitcoin ETF companies buy bitcoin and tell their customers to by shares.
I can not buy, sell, deposit and withdraw bitcoin from the ETF companies, I can only buy shares from them. I can buy, sell, deposit and withdrawal on centralized exchanges.
If only bitcoin ETF companies are existing, I can not make use of bitcoin every again because I know I am not dealing with bitcoin. Many people that are talking about privacy still make use of exchanges in one way or the other.
Exchange promise bitcoin only true in a sense that they will allow you to withdraw. However, many of these exchanges ToS the bitcoin you bought might still belong to them and the bitcoin that you bought still entitled to the estate claim. Just a little FYI, not all exchange are good, some write down their authority as jut beneficiaries, some consider your asset as theirs. Though, your bitcoin will truly become yours if you're able to withdraw.

Can't wait till we get to move all their posts to the altcoin section. Going to be hilarious to watch them all loose their minds.
I wish them to have some hashrate, honestly. Just 1%, for a couple of months. You all lucky have lived to have BCH and BSV airdropped in your wallets. I can't wait for my turn, to sell all my BIP110 for BTC!
Jokes asides, this will be permanently positive, because we will also no longer have to discuss about spam, just as we no longer discuss about the block size argument. Whenever someone complains about spam, I will just point them over to BIP110-coin!

BCH actually had a lot more hashrate percentage (and a ton more support) then 110.
BTG,BDC,BTK,and the dozens of other forks also were real good for making some money.
As I have said before still kicking myself for not dumping BCH as soon as the fork happened. Live and learn.
This time I think it's going to be harder, mostly because did have so much support that people with money were out there to trade it.
Now, no exchanges are even talking about it. No pools (except for Ocean) are mining it. And so on. It's probably going to be DoA.
Could be wrong, 110 might have just enough hash to get a few blocks in the beginning then they will have to fork and do a difficulty drop and an algo change but who knows.

14. Post 66882643 (unedited backup) (by Charles-Tim) (scraped on Sat Jun 27 19:14:07 CEST 2026) in Bitcoin ETF is an idea from centralized system :
I don't understand the misunderstanding.
Both a centralized exchange and an ETF promise you bitcoin. A centralized exchange allows you to withdraw, correct. On the other hand, an ETF is more regulated and secured to the owners than a centralized exchange. Regardless, when you use either, you trust they hold what they claim they hold. Both can practice fractional reserve banking.
Bitcoin ETF companies do not promise bitcoin, it is exchanges that promise bitcoin that their customers can trust them, although which might be disappointing. Bitcoin ETF companies buy bitcoin and tell their customers to by shares.
U can not buy, sell, deposit and withdraw bitcoin from the ETF companies, I can only buy shares from them. I can buy, sell, deposit and withdrawal on centralized exchanges.
If only bitcoin ETF companies are existing, I can not make use of bitcoin every again. Many people that are talking about privacy still make use of exchanges in one way or the other.
15. Post 66882621 (unedited backup) (by DaveF) (scraped on Sat Jun 27 19:06:38 CEST 2026) in [AMA] I am a proponent of the BIP-110 (a.k.a RDTS) - ask me anything:
Some Most nodes will do not run the BIP110 rules.
As of now. 70% +/- of the nodes out there are going to continue to accept blocks that do not signal 110.
So a minority of nodes, most of them believed to be trying to sybil attack the bitcoin network are running knots.
And all the people behind it refuse to take part in any kind of wager. So they either have no
BTC, don't really believe what they are positing, or are part of the fringe group of Catholics that luke is a part of that think gambling is a sin.
Here is a nice podcast about luke and how far out there his beliefs are:
https://www.coindesk.com/podcasts/coindesk-podcast-network/bitcoin-season-2-inside-the-mind-of-luke-dashjr-bitcoin-s-most-polarizing-developerIf people want to follow someone like that then let them. They will have their minority chain that nobody else wants and then they can follow him like everyone followed BSV off a cliff.
Can't wait till we get to move all their posts to the altcoin section. Going to be hilarious to watch them all loose their minds.

16. Post 66882160 (unedited backup) (by Greg Tonoski) (scraped on Sat Jun 27 16:55:25 CEST 2026) in [AMA] I am a proponent of the BIP-110 (a.k.a RDTS) - ask me anything:
A chain split is typical for hard-forks (unlike the soft-fork BIP-110). In absence of a hard-fork, there are usually observed so-called chain reorganizations ("re-org").
A chain split is typical for hard forks, correct, but it is also typical for soft forks that do not receive the majority of hashrate on their side.
Incorrect. As a matter of fact a soft-fork "receives" all soft-fork's hashrate (not any majority, not any minority). Chain-splits are not typical for soft-forks, obviously (it would have been easy for anybody to show examples as proofs to the contrary).
A soft fork invalidates a currently valid rule.
Correct.
If most miners ignore this, and produce blocks that are invalid to post-softfork nodes, those nodes do not experience reorgs, they simply stop following the chain with the most work, and land on a forked chain, hopefully with some hashrate.
Incorrect. If any reckless or rogue miner produces an invalid block then the block is rejected by nodes and is not appended to the chain. Even if Foundry, Ant Pool, F2Pool and MARA together produced invalid blocks, they would neither derail nodes nor impact the chain with their broadcast of invalid blocks. Node runners would still secure the chain. Nodes would not stop following the chain with the most work and would not be tricked into following an alternate, invalid (corrupted, dishonest, decoy) chain. The same applies all the time, regardless of moments of soft-forks activations.
Nobody will mine on 110 so it's going to be the regular chain and a lot of knots / 110 nodes just sitting there stalled.
Which does bring up the philosophical discussion. If someone changes the rules and nobody mines with the new rules and those nodes just sit there doing nothing.....does anyone care?
Incorrect. There are miners who mine BIP-110 complaint blocks and it will continue. There will not be any "knots / 110 nodes just sitting there stalled." BTW nodes are miners too and produce blocks by themselves (even if not using loads of energy).
I assume at least those, who signal for BIP-110, will keep mining it.
I agree.
But of course, it is possible, that all of them will stop, after seeing non-signalling blocks for a few hours.
I disagree. That would be against their interest. Also, there would be excellent opportunity for enormous profitability of mining if difficulty was drastically adjusted downward. There will entrepreneurs who would rather seize the opportunity than let it slip. Also, node runners are characterized by low time preference so temporary slow down of blocks production don't discourage them.
Most of the blocks in Bitcoin were produced such that they conform with the BIP-110 (besides flipping the bit). Why wouldn't it continue?
Even pro-BIP-110 block explorers can show you, that it is not the case:
https://mempool.kilombino.comThe block explorer shows as I said. Maybe you looked at short timeframe. I referred to the whole history of Bitcoin.
But I do wonder if it was important, OP, for you to say something about yourself that you believe to be natural (straight). Usually the ones who state do so because they are rather... to the contrary of "natural".
I thought it may be part of the culture of the forum as some prominent members publicly announced their orientation, e.g. Ava Chow, Wladimir van der Laan (males transitioned to females).
Secondly, I want to emphasize that that the BIP-110 is not ghey.
As a matter of fact, there is all hashrate on the permanent chain with BIP-110 whereas there may be non-rivalry, fugitive and ephemeral hashrate idling on a perishable block-height.
You don't want to trade "non-rivalry, fugitive and ephemeral hashrate idling on a perishable block-height" coins that are easy to double spend for real bitcoin because?
I think it would be fraud of me if I promised to exchange something (bPedo coins) that wouldn't exist. The BIP-110 does not create any chain-split.
Besides, I know for a fact that there are trolls paid for promoting gambling platforms, in particular Predyx and Polymarket.
Are there questions?
Are you aware that most TX with OP_RETURN output is created by Runes/Runestone protocol? Most of them also have 80 bytes or less arbitrary data on the OP_RETURN?
Yes, I am aware of that. I wrote "datacarrier=0" in the bitcoin.conf file on my node in order to reject such transactions. I advise everybody to do the same.
Have you ever read BIP 110 itself?
Yes, I read BIP-110 specification many times. I have been explaining it to Bitcoiners for months. Also, I shared my review comments with the author (Dathon Ohm) and others.
It clearly state it's possible miner or mining pool create block that doesn't signal BIP 110 on mandatory signaling period, which treated as invalid by BIP 110.
Correct.
Related with part of BIP 110 i quoted above, BIP 110 only choose chain that signal BIP 110 starting from mandatory signaling period. If more than 50% miner/mining pool decide not to signal BIP 110, that means BIP 110 would choose "weaker" chain.
To the contrary. "If more than 50% miner/mining pool decide not to signal BIP 110, that means" that the chain is stronger because it ousts (defends against) dishonest miners/nodes and more importantly reinforces decentralization.
I deliberately skip the spook Gregory Maxwell's post. I'm disinterested in his handlers' USD. Their fiat dollars are worthless to me.
110 supporters seem to be nocoiners who want to punish the rest of us.
I keep my secret key to sats in Bitcoin so I'm not a nocoiner. Also, I have been using Bitcoin for payments. I deny the suspicion that I want to punish you.

20. Post 66878802 (unedited backup) (by Greg Tonoski) (scraped on Fri Jun 26 17:14:20 CEST 2026) in [AMA] I am a proponent of the BIP-110 (a.k.a RDTS) - ask me anything:
There isn't any chainsplit created by the BIP-110. If rogue miners pushed invalid blocks then the blocks would be rejected (as usual).
Here's how it works: Your BIP110 node will start considering invalid Bitcoin transactions that are "spam". This means that if your node receives a block with "spam" included, you will reject that block. Therefore, if majority of hashrate mines with non-BIP110 rules, you're no longer on the chain with majority of hashrate!
That's not fully accurate. I agree that my node rejects an invalid block. I disagree that "if majority of hashrate mines with [invalid] non-BIP110 rules, you're no longer on the chain with majority of hashrate" is applicable in case of soft-forks (and the BIP-110 in particular). As a matter of fact, there is all hashrate on the permanent chain with BIP-110 whereas there may be non-rivalry, fugitive and ephemeral hashrate idling on a perishable block-height.
Or maybe I'm wasting my time talking to a "straight male" Pepe alt account who can't tell what a chain split is.
Do you think it is wrong to be a straight male? Isn't it natural?
A chain split is typical for hard-forks. In absence of a hard-fork, there are usually observed so-called chain reorganizations ("re-org").
There isn't any chainsplit created by the BIP-110.
Only if the hashrate majority will be reached,
There isn't any such thing like majority and minority hashrate to create chainsplits in Bitcoin. In case of a chain split (as a result of a hard-fork), all hashrate operates on a chain and all hashrate operates on another chain.
(...) the chain will always split.
Would you give a real-life example in Bitcoin, please? Was there a split of a chain in case of the SegWit soft-fork in Bitcoin according to you?
Any non-signalling block is rejected by all BIP-110 clients (...). Which means, that the chain will split after block 961,632,
Incorrect. A "non-signalling blocks" could either be never produced or produced at any point in time, e.g. in block 961 666.
(...) a minority chain, supported only by miners, which will signal for BIP-110.
There isn't a minority chain, supported only by miners, which will signal for BIP-110. The chain is neither minority or majority. The chain continues either with lower difficulty or higher - retrospectively of amount of
hashrate. BTW it is not specific to the RDTS/BIP-110 soft-fork. It applies for soft-forks in general.
(...) the rest 98% will keep mining blocks without any BIP-110 signalling, exactly as they do today.
Most of the blocks in Bitcoin were produced so that they conform with the BIP-110 (besides flipping the bit). Why wouldn't it continue?
Bitcoin Knots will reject the stronger chain, which will cause the split. It is simply programmed to split, because there is no "failing" condition in the code.
Incorrect. BIP-110 doesn't change the consensus rule about selection of the heaviest ("stronger") chain. There isn't any split caused by the BIP-110.
If rogue miners pushed invalid blocks then the blocks would be rejected (as usual).
Anyone can always make a client, which would tell "I don't like this transaction, so it is invalid". However, if new rules are enforced only by a minority, then it will result in an unsafe, minority chain
Incorrect. "Minority" is not minority on a chain. All participants enforce rules on a chain - some of them explicitly and fully (running fully validating node), some of them implicitly and softly. Also, an unsafe chain is one that can be rolled back (perish, evaporate). There isn't anything like that added by the BIP-110. To the contrary, the BIP-110 make the chain more secure so that it doesn't perish.
If Knots decide to switch to less safe chain
There isn't anything about switching a another chain specified in the BIP-110.
The whitepaper works, only when the majority of miners are honest.
Agree. There will be the majority of miners honest, I believe.
If they are mining something you don't like, then it is your problem to find another miners, and secure your minority chain.
I agree that it is our problem when miners mine something we don't like. In particular, I dislike bulky garbage stuffed in OP_RETURN and elsewhere in transactions being mined by miners. As a solution to the problem, I find the BIP-110. Bitcoin is not a minority chain, neither pre- nor post-activation of the BIP-110.

Το σειριακό αριθμό του χαρτονομίσματος τι να τον κάνουν ακριβώς; Αφού δίνω υπογραφή ότι έδωσα π.χ 200 ευρώ, τι άλλο χρειάζεται να ξέρει;

22. Post 66877690 (unedited backup) (by Mhizlove) (scraped on Fri Jun 26 10:21:25 CEST 2026) in Too many projects chase AI hype without purpose : Bitcoin Economy Nowdays ! :
No business that reduces time, money wasted or risk survives over the long term. Most people see AI but they have no understanding how to use it to minimize those. So what happens instead? Endless noisy content on the Internet, endless AI slop, trying to do something with AI.
The winners from the AI race are the automators. Those who will use AI to help real pains.
You see AI is not the real advantage, the real value is in how people do applies to solve the practical problems and improve in their efficiency. Anyone can generate alot of Contents with the use of AI, but it do not automatically create value if such content can solve a y real problem. Those that do benefit most from this AI era are not those that just produce content on a daily basis, but those that understands how to use it to save time, improve accuracy, reduce costs and make it easier for businesses and the individuals. You see technology always rewards the ones that do focus on solving problems genuinely instead of going after New trends.
At end of it all, AI should be seen as a tool and not the final product. Critical thinking, Human creativity and having understanding about the real world needs will still determine really on who succeeds over time.

We can't escape from AI these days, so what we can do is utilize the strengths of AI to make our work easier. So for me, it is not wrong to use AI but use it responsibly. I believe you just need to find a way how to use it that you can really get something out of it and not totally rely from it.
Indeed , never blind trust with AI ... it s like intenet at it early age ... peaople don t fuly inderstand it .......
I would say that it s the nowdays sun of WWW ( wolrd with web ).

Why do you call the energy used to power bitcoin miners "stranded"? It can do anything, like powering AC in Europe.
Stranded energy lacks the transmission infrastructure to reach major grids; i would say that mining simply turns that wasted power into a productive, a borderless digital asset.
So what happens instead? Endless noisy content on the Internet, endless AI slop, trying to do something with AI.
The winners from the AI race are the automators. Those who will use AI to help real pains.
I completely share this point ..! and Exactly, the real winners are those leveraging AI to solve actual industrial pain points rather than just flooding the internet with automated noise.
27. Post 66875291 (unedited backup) (by Satofan44) (scraped on Thu Jun 25 17:58:13 CEST 2026) in Can Bitcoin survive on fees alone after block subsidy dies? :
You are talking about a very specific kind of attack, which is renting hashrate. This can be easily fought off with rudimentary measures such as increasing the coin maturity, making it extremely uneconomical to even try to do this as you would burn up resources before you are able to sell any Bitcoin to continue financing the attack.
I don't believe this is an effective counter-measure at all.
- An attacker doesn't have to sell Bitcoin to finance a 51% attack. The 51% attacks that have occurred so far did not need from the attacker to sell his coinbase rewards. What you are describing makes sense in the scenario that the attacker has decided to run this attack for an indefinite period of time, and does not have enough capital in the first place.
- Coin maturity may prevent an attacker from spending the coins, but it does not prevent him from taking on debt using the non-mature coins as collateral. It is a definite collateral since the Bitcoin network owes those coins to the miner.
The attacks that have occurred in other networks using rented hashrated have exactly relied on selling the rewards and/or shorting. Why would someone do something that only burns money and does not accomplish anything? Putting state actors aside, do you believe that rich people are this stupid?

Nobody is even attempting to do it because it accomplishes nothing if you are not able to profit off of it and neither destroy the currency in question.
Monero survived this attack, and did it go down? All that happened was that services increased the number of confirmations, sometimes even to extreme measures where you would need to wait more than 4 or 5 hours to confirm. After the attacker ran out of money or will, the confirmation requirement was lowered and Monero continues to function as normally as it did.
However, at that point I would also bring up the legality of the attack. No regulated miner anywhere in the developed world can do this attack, they would be sued to the ground and shut down before anything can happen.
I think you're correct if you're talking about a "destructive" attack, i.e. someone trying to reorg 100 or more blocks to "destroy" Bitcoin. That's very difficult to imagine and there would be definitely countermeasures.
But I'm a bit more concerned about small 51% attacks that could harm Bitcoin's reputation. Like the 16 block reorg (or so) that recently occurred on Litecoin due to an attacker exploiting a mining pool software vulnerability. A successful attack of this kind could cause a quite sizeable dip in Bitcoin (so if the attacker is short selling he'd probably get at least some recompensation). Such an attack gets easier if the security budget is low.
Perhaps the best countermeasure would be to have a countermeasure package ready to be deployed as a BIP. The first step could be a simple incentive mechanism like a fee market boost (adaptive block size, or alternatively a mandatory transaction fee like on altcoins like Peercoin), then another step changing the mining algorithm, and finally the "finality by PoS" idea, at least as an emergency mechanism of last resort. This would transmit some confidence to people even if somebody achieves a small reorg (16 blocks would already be a lot on BTC, but 16 LTC blocks are roughly equivalent to 4 BTC blocks).
You make a fair point. The reason why I talk about this is that the most common way that people talk about a 51% attack is that once it is in progress, it is the end of times for Bitcoin which is complete bullshit and an exaggeration. We see shitcoins survive these attacks, and somehow Bitcoin wouldn't survive it.

The completely defeating existential level 51% attack is extremely unlikely, to the point that it is meaningless to consider it -- we might as well consider what would happen if an asteroid splits the Earth in half, would Bitcoin work across the two remaining halves?

Back to your note, I agree that this attack is more dangerous because it has a much higher likelihood (relatively speaking) of occurring. While an individual case would not kill Bitcoin by a long shot, it may not even cause severe damage but it would deal a good blow -- repeated cases of these blows would cause a lot of trouble. Perhaps you need to start writing BIPs or getting engagement on Delving Bitcoin, I keep telling you.
One of the many mistakes that users in this space make, including you and me, is that we expect someone else to take action and solve problems because those "others" have more expertise and experience with the necessary things.
If you want something to happen, you need to start getting active about it -- in the absence of that, you just may end up being lucky in case something is done about a problem that was important to you. I am a pro-active person myself, I do not like reactive measures when pro-action is possible. Therefore, I would prefer to have countermeasures in place long before an attack becomes an issue.

JayJuanGeeIsn't it more better to recommend specific threads/posts from these people you mentioned instead of just giving their profile? Except Satoshi, every other users in your list have over thousands of posts. I'm curious where you want Op to start from. Moreso, this is not like other social media where you can follow someone and be seeing their posts frequently.
Unless you want to track these users with the help of Telegram bot to know when they make a post. I don't think this will help a newbie much after all because they won't probably be posting about what he needs at the right time.

I felt there is a need to have a list of important topics that had been discussed in the past so we all can reminiscent on some of these them that can be educative to the Naija board. There are so many topics I have compiled on my noted that will be beneficial to both the Naija board and the forum since new topics easily overtake the good old ones that might make searching for them be very difficult.
Some of these topics had been translated to the Pigin language for those that might find it easy to grab and comprehend in the Naija Native English tongue. I so much appreciate the people that devoted their time to translate someone the topics to our local native English for fluency sake.
Everyone is welcome to peruse these topics and I promise to add more so we can be enlightened to those important topics that might have slide through our eyes.
these are useful things you can look out for as a beginner and can equally go to the beginners and hep section of the forum to learn other relevant things.
if some of these thread looks irrelevant for you, you can just use the search box on the forum to get key information that relates the the areas where you want to be knowledgeable in. the learning process on the forum is a continuous process so you want to take your time and keep learning slow and steady.

Has anyone verified that there's actually a 'dick butt jpeg' embedded in a transaction? Pardon me, but I don't look up porn on the blockchain on my free time, so it may as well not be true.
I don't want to verify it, but other people claim there are different kind of questionable or illegal content.
On a side note, i've verified there's actual malware and malware signature on Bitcoin blockchain. You can verify it on

But I would like to be on the right side of the story in the short term also, not only in the intergenerational long term only.

Has anyone verified that there's actually a 'dick butt jpeg' embedded in a transaction? Pardon me, but I don't look up porn on the blockchain on my free time, so it may as well not be true.
If there is not we should put some in before 110 splits off so no matter what they will always have to have a copy of it in their blockchain.
*Well probably not since they are going to deem transactions that they don't like not worthy and probably remove them from the blockchain. They can just start from the genesis block and recreate bitcoin with only the TXs they deem worthy.

37. Post 66872357 (unedited backup) (by philipma1957) (scraped on Wed Jun 24 20:50:55 CEST 2026) in Can Bitcoin survive on fees alone after block subsidy dies? :
2010 satoshi said in 20 years which is 2030
Let's look
Note I rounded a bit.
2024 1,300,000 coins about 3.2 coins a block
2028. 650,000 coins. About 1.56 coin a block. We need at least 150k a coin or more fees
?......?............................................................................. satoshi 20 time pick
2032. 325,000 coins about 0.78 coins a block we need 300k a coin or more fees
2036. 162,000 coins about 0.39 coins a block we need 600k a coin or more fees
2040. 81,000 coins. About 0.195 coins a block we need 1.2m a coin or more fees.
Now some think miners quitting makes things less secure some think it will be a disaster if miners quit as security will drop
Here is what I think if you are lucky you will live long enough to find out.
I will be 83 in 2040 I hope to see what happens at that 1/2ing
I pray God give you long life to witness 2040. Satoshi expected fee market to work by 2030 and not 2140. So the test start with 2-3 halvings and not with next generations as I put in my thread. Maybe we can see early warning if let say by 2036 fees can't replace 0.39 BTC subsidy, haspower will drop before 2140. One thing is certain if price doesn't reach that, either hashpower drops or fees must be painful for users.
This has also been discussed in here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5574940.msg66422758#msg66422758My answer on the what level of security is sufficient question is this:
1. How do you determine what level of security is sufficient?
That's a great question. How about this?
As long as no attackers collectively have access to the infrastructure for ~half the hashrate, then any level of security is sufficient. The 51% attack is relevant when an attacker is capable of taking
access to the miners. Historically, all altcoin 51% attacks have occurred either because the attacker rented enough hashrate or infected computers with malware to gain CPU/GPU hash power. There has never been a case where an attacker practiced 51% attack and had ownership of the infrastructure.
With this definition of security sufficiency, the risk of Bitcoin is to encourage miners to switch into renting their hashpower part-time. According to Mining Rig Rentals, around
50 EH/s are available to rent. That's roughly 4% of hashrate. Currently low risk, but what if this number goes upwards in the future?
Thank you. I searched the wrong way and miss that thread. I know 51% attack only matters if someone can actually gather half the hashpower. I'm still trying to connect your point about renting to the long term incentive problem.
To all gathering the hash power will be pretty easy. If the companies shrinking their hash rate do not destroy the gear.
we were at 155t we are at 125t diff
we dropped over 200eh in hash. 10 years of that and someone buying the gear cheap would give the 55% of the hash easy peasy.
granted say it is 1000eh of slightly old gear.
1000 ph = 1 eh
5 x s21 miners is 1 ph
so 3.5kwatts for 1 s21
35 kwatts for 10 s21
350kwatts for 100 s21
3.5mega watts for 1000 s21
17.5 mega watts for 5,000 s21 or 1 eh
17,500 mega watts for 1000 eh of s21
and of course 5 million s21 miners.
right now = way too hard to do.
but give mining shrinkage some time
and grow a few ai companies with big power
and I think we could see an attack on the network .
in 22 years or less time ie the 2048 1/2ing it should be ripe for attack.
2024 3.125
2028 1.5625
2032 0.78125
2036 0.390625
2040 0.1953125
2044 0.09765624 we run out of place holders
2048 0.048828125 we need to go to 10 digits not 8
2052 0.0244140625
2056 0.01220703125 we need to go to 12 digits not 10I see a lot of unsolved issues above by 2036 to 2056.
No one talks about the 8 turning in 10 turning into 12 but it will need to be addressed.

I am an opponent of the Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 110 (BIP-110 a.k.a. RDTS - Reduced Data Temporary Soft-fork, bip110.org) scheduled for activation in August 2026.
I run a Bitcoin node, stack sats, bully no-coiners, and my healthy lifestyle is sustained entirely by caffeine, 4L of water and beef. I am as straight male as it gets, and highly aware that this is a Bitcointalk post and not a Tinder bio.
I am interested in Bitcoin's security, economics, and protecting its monetary properties from moronic ideas like BIP-110.
Amen. To That.
And do no forget your other thread: How to spot a No-Coiner
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5586295.0Nobody who has any measurable amount of
BTC would ever support 110 or any proposal that could tell them how and where and for what they could spend their
BTC on.
But with their 0.2% of blocks signaling support of if this period:
https://wickedsmartbitcoin.com/bip110_signalingAnd that fact that most knots nodes are going to fork off in 44 days from this post
https://jlopp.github.io/knotzi-death-march/It does not really matter. Since they are going to go off on their own chain. And as the saying goes. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way our.
And you will be welcome in the altcoin discussion part of this forum.
In the next couple of weeks expect to see SHA256 rental prices go though the roof as all the 110 supporters start to rent everything so they can show that there is "support" for it.

39. Post 66871507 (unedited backup) (by Satofan44) (scraped on Wed Jun 24 16:41:43 CEST 2026) in What's the course of action when you notice possibly abusive peers?:
It's normal behavior.
Is it normal though?
I mean I'm only going off what gemini is saying having analysed it with the getpeerinfo data over a period of time, and it's saying it's near identical to this thing called linkinglion which you may have heard of.
I'm curious though so if it is normal then no need to ban or block or whatever, just seems a bit odd to me all these random subversions from the same ip block all doing pretty much the same thing to my node, cycling through hundreds of ips (sending nothing but receiving tons of data). All these different types of software being used surely don't all behave in the same way?!
But like you say, they are only receiving, and I'm curious so may as well leave it alone.
Thanks though appreciate it
I think the word normal is inappropriate here as it may convey a different understanding depending on the background of the reader. BlackHatCoiner would perhaps want to say that this is not unusual behavior or that it is even quite common. I would say that in most of the recent history of the network there have been always various entities that are spying, scraping the network and doing who knows what.
Is that normal node behavior? No.
Does it hurt you? Not really.
Do you want to give such individuals data and spend resources on them? It is up to you. If you want to spend time in engaging in a kind of "ban warfare" it is entirely up to you. It is not something that you need to do, but if you choose to do it it won't be a mistake. If you do end up doing this, you might as well also ban all Knots nodes based on the subversions. They also act like parasitic nodes and take much more data from you than they give you in return.

40. Post 66870880 (unedited backup) (by LoyceV) (scraped on Wed Jun 24 13:38:19 CEST 2026) in Just a friendly reminder :
A cold wallet setup with a used decent business-grade laptop is in the same ballpark price-wise.
I like cheap "old" business laptops for various purposes, but a proper cold wallet with offline signing is not foolproof, and takes a lot of time. Doing it the right way is very time-consuming. For example, I wrote this for signing a transaction from a paper wallet:
Online:Install Electrum on your PC.
Import your address to create a watch-only wallet.
Preview the transaction, Copy the unsigned transaction. Put it on a USB stick.
Offline and running without hard drive storage:Get a Linux LIVE DVD. Use Knoppix or
Tails for instance, or any other distribution that comes with Electrum pre-installed.
Unplug your internet cable. Close the curtains. Reboot your computer and start up from that DVD. Don't enter any wireless connection password. Keep it offline.
Start Electrum. Import your private key.
Copy your unsigned transaction from the USB stick, load it into Electrum.
CHECK the transaction in Electrum. Check the fees, check the amount, check all destination addresses (
character by character).
If all is okay, sign the transaction. Copy it back to your USB stick.
Turn off the computer. That wipes the Live LINUX from memory and all traces are gone.
Online:Use your normal online Electrum to (check again and) broadcast the transaction.
I encourage Bitcoin users to practice this and get comfortable with offline signing, but I wouldn't recommend storing any real amount this way until you're absolutely certain you know what you're doing!
Cyber threats will become much worse in the age of AI. The latest models are capable of finding vulnerabilities in critical code, like the linux kernel.
Copy.Fail was one of the worst root exploits I've seen in my life. Luckily, it required access to a user-account first, so the damage was limited.

See OP for details. New table entrants must be added, please be patient.
Check out the companion
daily stair climbing thread!
EDIT: OMG, I'm in shambles.

How did I pull that off? lol
I don't know what you're cooking but from what I'm seeing is going to be something impressive, the way you choose to make the table look more comfortable to the eyes give me joy, you have been doing this for long and you know what is best for this thread and you're doing your best I must say. You are really trying your best to make things better than it was and I hope this will be as a motivation to members who are thinking on giving up the work out to continue pushing. Can't wait to see the final results of the table (that is if you are not yet done) good job @DirtyKeyborad

but the solution isn't Bitcoin, it's fast stablecoins that settle in milliseconds and can handle the volume of the whole world. Bitcoin was never meant to do that, and it simply can't.
Bitcoin on-chain cannot do that, but if custody is not a problem, a solution like Cashu can do that. Essentially, you're sending your bitcoin to a mint, they issue cash tokens redeemable for bitcoin, which can be exchanged privately like cash. The reason why this is not going to ever scale is because it is a threat to the federal government, not because it is inconvenient.
Cashu is... Cashu. It's a centralized system that has every presumed downside of a centralized system. Using it eliminates any advantage you would have gained from using Bitcoin.
And yes, the reason Bitcoin is slow and expensive to transact is because of the threat by the government to shut it down. It's the reason why Bitcoin got going in the first place.
But today, digital currencies are absolutely, positively
legal everywhere that matters, and the US president is even in the digital currency business himself personally. It simply can't get any more
legal than that. They will no sooner make Bitcoin illegal than that will make hamburgers illegal.
Hence Bitcoin's original architectural tradeoff is now pointless. Hence my proposal I linked to above wasn't met with
universal scorn in the hardest-of-the-hardcode Bitcoin religion community

.
(Unrelated thought: is decentralization is the Noah's Ark of Bitcoin?)
44. Post 66866085 (unedited backup) (by d5000) (scraped on Tue Jun 23 02:33:19 CEST 2026) in Volatility IS a bug, not a feature :):
I've almost forgotten that thread, but then I saw that common misconception and also some other takes I'd like to comment:
I suspect almost all of those respondents were not aware of how long Bitcoin transactions actually take to execute (viz. 10-100x longer than credit cards)
Credit card payments take several days to settle, and settlement speed is the equivalent of a confirmation, because only then you're safe from chargebacks (which are like double spends). In my country the option with the lowest fees takes 35 days for online payments, and 10 days with a PoS terminal.
Instant settlement is very expensive.
Now, as soon as you introduce the L2 concept, you need to defend another network, infrastructure, rules, security, etc. Any L2 is at best going to have the same overhead issues as a native stablecoin, so no matter what, the stablecoin wins from an architectural POV.
"Native stablecoins" have also scalability issues. They can run on a "big blocker" blochchain like Solana for sure, but for dominance even in online payments these chains would have to scale even further. Yes, there may be dedicated stablecoin blockchains with very little decentralization in the future. But that would not bring many advantages versus Paypal-style payments. The merchant fee would be the biggest advantage.
In addition traditional payments also consist of "layers" (bank "base layer", card network as a "L2"). Good L2s don't introduce significant additional risk, like card payment networks.
[Bitcoin] is absolutely not demanded the same [by merchants] in the physical world.
True, but that's totally fine, because online commerce already makes up a large part of the payments. If Bitcoin was still only used for online payments but was dominant in that sector, it would still be a significant "currency".
