My main objection is that it fails to solve the spam problem. Even if we came to an agreement on what constitutes "spam", there is no evidence that in a BIP110 chain, there would not be spam, or even less spam.
I don't think that BIP110 is actually per say technically anti-spam. It aims to completely prevent the two ways of posting contiguous dara via the p2p network.
Meaning you might still be able to post contiguous data, but via 3rdpartyy like Mara only.
Mostly, BIP110 rejects the change implemented in core 30 that effectively makes bitcoin a sanctioned file sharing app. And it sends the signal that core's complaisance towards spam will no longer be tolerated.
For example, guys like Tone Vale are saying that BIP110 effectively kills core. But I don't think so. Core can still save itself if it takes an anti-spam stance. But core will never regain a complete monopoly of bitcoin nodes. Especially with Knots and Sampson Mow's implementation showing up over the horizon.
I'd like to see other implementations gain popularity.

As I see it, the most important part of BIP110 is the signal it sends: bitcoin is money, not jpeg hosting service for shitcoins. But no doubt, spam will still exist after BIP110 goes through. Fighting spam is like installing a moskito zapper in your garden. It needs to be a continuous and perpetual fight.
It is a never ending cat-and-mouse game. Switching to softfork in an asset that is soon to be worth multiple trillions of dollars, without a clear understanding of the pros, while acknowledging that it de facto reduces the potential use cases of the bitcoin scripting language, is just kids playing with matches.
BIP110 fixes the op_return limit at 83 bytes in consensus. So that nobody can ever attempt to fuck with it a again.
And it puts an end to the use of op_of in Taproot. Still you will have access to op_ifioutsidebof Taproot. Every known use cases of op_if in Taproot are for spam. So far, about 6 months into the BIP110 debate and nobody has cone out and said they are using op_if in Taproot, outside of spammers.

If you've made mistakes in the past and are now realizing the importance of privacy then you should leave the exchange and store your assets in a wallet you control yourself, without third parties. Alternatively as you mentioned, there might be other alternatives that can erase traces so your assets can't be tracked. But I'm curious, is the use of mixers still permitted today?
We can retrieve our data back on the centralized exchange because, well, we have to accept that if we've already used it, don't force it because it can't be changed.
Basically, the bitcoin mixer in our country Indonesia is also prohibited if it refers to the potential, and there are some CEXs that do not accept mixed bitcoins such as indodax, Binance and others, but Dex can accept it, so you don't need to worry about the bitcoin that has been mixed, you can sell bitcoin to Dex then you buy bitcoin again there, after that your bitcoin will be safe, without any trace of mixing. Most people's economic decisions are driven by emotions, I'd argue. Women's emotions definitely drive them more in life decisions, in general, but very often men also buy stuff without clear or logical reasoning. Gambling is emotion-driven. That car you want to buy, or that clothe, because you want to impress.
Men are more rationale with the markets, though. Haven't met many women bitcoiners.
women generally are vulnerable to emotions but not in all aspect of life. A woman can decide to marry a person that has nothing to offer because she believes she's loved and she's in love, a woman can cheat on her husband with a man who pretend to love her more because she feels her husband is not showing her affection and doesn't give her the attention she needs. But I doubt a woman will carryout a business transaction with emotions, when it comes to business most women don't allow emotions to becloud there judgement rather, they make decisions based on season, availability, demands, durability etc.

Road C: complicate your code changes: if more than 20 minutes have passed, miners mine one low-difficulty block. But they don't broadcast it, as that would be ignored by all other miners who run your Fork. The moment they find a real ASIC block, they broadcast both blocks.
So you'll need to adjust your code to still accept low-difficulty blocks, but only when there's an ASIC block on top of them already. If I understand stwenhao correctly, this should make it a softfork again.

This shouldn't matter for testnet since the coins are worthless, all that's needed to make this work is some "bedrock" layer of ASICs who will always mine so that block generation does not stall for disproportionate periods of time.
I don't really trust big companies to have the goodwill to always have testnet ASICs running in the event something changes, so maybe it's time to start making BitAxe-style products go mainstream., but for testnet and making the primary functions of these devices something else. e.g. Bitcoin node or even space heater.

I never understood why ASIC owners waste that much hardware on testnet, but while they're at it, they should just switch! Let's say the majority hashrate switches to your fork: do I understand correctly that even people who don't run your Fork will follow this chain when it's the longest? That means all those CPU-miners will keep mining blocks on top of their own chain, only to be forked out again at every ASIC block. If that's correct, then all that's needed is for some ASIC miners to mine at your chain!

I can imagine a Universe where someone in the position of Satoshi would have done a poorer job than Satoshi, and create an incomplete cryptocurrency. I still don't think that would be catastrophic. As more cryptocurrency ideas were implemented, the market would gradually move to the next most complete one.
But thank God Satoshi implemented cryptocurrency with fixed supply, proof-of-work, softfork compatibility and optional privacy-- all at once.
Yeah, true. Even if it wasn’t perfect at first, crypto would’ve evolved, but Satoshi Nakamoto really nailed the fundamentals from the start, and that’s why Bitcoin is still on top.
It was the reward system that made Bitcoin successful. Although predecessors have thought of such implementation. Only Bitcoin implemented all theories in one, where the trust system is not centralized, unlike the one proposed before it. Satoshi really saw the strength of its predecessors and combined those in one go.
If Bitcoin is not implemented, I think we can have cryptocurrency today but its reward system would be centralized and not automated created through mining blocks.

Satoshi also implemented bitcoin with the "longest chain" as a determining factor for the valid chain instead of the "chain with the most work". He also reduced the block size from 32 MB to 1 MB without telling anyone, and imagined that bitcoin transactions could work as point-of-sale because of 0-conf.
It is clear to me to this moment that Satoshi is not some divine figure, and he could have made many mistakes.
Great examples to what point I was trying to make! I think if we looked deeper into the post history of satoshi we would find more errors and that is to be expected. People need to stop treating him as a divinity and instead scrutinize all his content based on what we know today, but have understanding for some errors when they related to things that we not known at the time. In the case of 0-confs he was greatly mistaken too just like he was about this spam thing.
You two can't just claim he could have made a mistake just because what he said doesn't suit your beliefs and wants.
Isn't that quite ironic?
Here is what Satoshi said: "That's one of the reasons for transaction fees. There are other things we can do if necessairy."
What part of that is false? The part where Satoshi assumes bitcoin is not a Lady Gaga video repository? The part where Satoshi said that if fees aren't enough, we have other means to kick out spammers?
List of false claims:
1. Bitcoin is not a Lady Gaga video repository. Satoshi does not decide this, satoshi does not decide what Bitcoin is or can be used for.
2. Claim that we can actually stop people from storing data in Bitcoin by using other means, this was disproved by many individuals.
3. There are no other means at all.
The fact is, you are both grifters, spammers, attackers. So discussing this with you is fruitless. You can't see the problem because you are the problem.
You can call us any kind of names that you want, but that does not change anything about this. We can store data in Bitcoin if we choose to do it, and there is no proposal in the world that can stop us. Nope. With the Segwit spam, I believe they still have to go through 3rd party spam miners (like Mara, F2, Foundry). None of those would willingly fill their blocks with illicit and controversial files. They are not stupid, they have lawyers, they filter that stuff.
Even with OP_RETURN, obfuscation still happen since you need to decode data pushed on OP_RETURN using UTF-8, ASCII or other format that need to be guessed.

File sharing was never a supported use case of bitcoin. So you would have to hide your spam and filth and make them look like genuine monetary transactions. Now you can upload a file, any file to the chain, without bribing a spam miner for it. And you are using the network exactly as core 30 intended for you to use it.

Yes, physical qubits are noisy, but don't error rates have to just be below a certain threshold? (Currently 0.1-1% per gate.) You encode one logical qubit across many physical qubits, and the redundancy lets you detect and fix errors.
To even have a chance at ECDLP, the noise has to drop 2^240 times, which is physically impossible.
Where does this number come from? Breaking 256-bit ECDSA requires roughly 2,500-4,000 logical qubits running Shor's algorithm. With current error correction schemes, that translates to a few million physical qubits.
I remember reading about ~1700 qubits for 256-bit ECDLP 10 years ago. With more than a billion of Toffoli gates though.
Midway through the computation any logical qubit has to represent 2^256 bits of information. Since qubits are analog, this requires corresponding noise levels - on the order of 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%.

I can imagine a Universe where someone in the position of Satoshi would have done a poorer job than Satoshi, and create an incomplete cryptocurrency. I still don't think that would be catastrophic. As more cryptocurrency ideas were implemented, the market would gradually move to the next most complete one.
But thank God Satoshi implemented cryptocurrency with fixed supply, proof-of-work, softfork compatibility and optional privacy-- all at once.
Yeah, true. Even if it wasn’t perfect at first, crypto would’ve evolved, but Satoshi Nakamoto really nailed the fundamentals from the start, and that’s why Bitcoin is still on top.

Why not just use a seed signer device? If all you want is the aesthetics of reading the "BTC" number on your screen, while enjoying the security of an airgapped environment, then just take your laptop, put some linux, download Bitcoin Core, let it sync, download Sparrow and set up a wallet via your SeedSigner.
Manually copying the blockchain from an internet connected computer to your airgapped laptop might also work, but just why...
I don't want to add additional complexity by using other software.
To answer some previous basic questions such as "why use optical media". It's safer because you cannot add some script there as you could with an USB, it's also write only. In any case, you can plug your drive which you only use for the online node on your offline laptop and copy the block files there using Tails so no realistic surface attack is possible in case you don't want to deal with dvds.

It cannot be denied that the privacy we buy on a centralized exchange will be easily tracked by those who have our data from there, maybe we even use many exchanges and we do veryfication on each of these exchanges, how to clean yourself, of course, by using a mixer so that people cannot track our bitcoin, that's one alternative way we can do, or as BlackHatCoiner said, this can be done if you want to restore your bitcoin privacy.

This is a good take, and I've thought of it. The scenario that the stablecoin crashes, like LUNA, is one concern. The other concern is that... You don't know when bitcoin goes back up. We can all confidently say things like bear market, when we are already in a bear market, but what when we no longer are? Can you really predict when it goes back to $100k, and you sold it at $70k?
Many people have regretted selling bitcoin for fiat, with the hopes of getting back lower. I can't say the same for HODLers.
Well, converting your Bitcoin to any assets, even if it's a " stablecoin ", is already considered as selling.
I believe the easiest way to cash out your Bitcoin is to sell it to a stablecoin, and most exchanges have that. A few clicks, and you already have a stablecoin that is pegged to the US dollar. So for sure, that's why that is the most common way, especially for those panic sellers.

This is a good take, and I've thought of it. The scenario that the stablecoin crashes, like LUNA, is one concern.
Stablecoins can have depegs, crashes like Terra USD (UST) or stablecoins in our wallets can be frozen if governments want or if stablecoins company receive reports and take action or they do it all by themselves without any report from their company users or request from governments.
The other concern is that... You don't know when bitcoin goes back up. We can all confidently say things like bear market, when we are already in a bear market, but what when we no longer are? Can you really predict when it goes back to $100k, and you sold it at $70k?
Many people have regretted selling bitcoin for fiat, with the hopes of getting back lower. I can't say the same for HODLers.
In this market, it's better to invest, don't trade, don't speculate the market. It's always very difficult to time the market for finding right times to enter or exit the market with bear market price or all time high price.
Many people want to outsmart the market and they can succeed some times but after all they lose their bitcoins by selling lows, buying higher prices. When Bitcoin takes off, it's simply too late to take quick enough action and buy it back for getting similar amount of bitcoin like you sold. It's very opposite with their plans when selling bitcoins as even they want to do the right things like buying bitcoin again, no guarantee that they will have better price for buying it.

Having said that. According to what I understand about the CEX platform model of operation. They keep their users name, ID, address, phone, bank details, and IP logs, with the inclusion of transaction history in multiple regulated databases
(BlackHatCoiner provides information on how it works here).
So, what you'll do now is reduce the level of the future exposure by moving crypto into self custody wallet, don't leave your crypto on exchanges, get a privacy email like ProtonMail, use a new phone number or eSIM instead of your real number, check for breaches using HaveIBeenPwned, use deleteme/incogni to reduce online exposure, request data deletion on GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA, which is for Europe, and California, respectively. Start using privacy tools or a wallet with coin control, use a VPN for websites, and if you want to use stablecoin, use DAI or LUSD.

There's a small transaction fee for very large transactions. The payment processor that generates the code that contains the transaction gets the fee.
If the same money gets sent again, it won't incur the fee again. If all you have is generated Dollars in your wallet, if you send them all in one huge transaction, it has to bundle hundreds of 50 Dollar bills together. After that it's just one line to send the combined unit.
Does the sending client send more Dollars to account for the fee (so the recipient gets what he's expecting)? Why couldn't someone just send 1000 small transactions to bypass fees?

No, I wouldn't say so. A 1 input 2 output transaction could spend a large amount of XMR, just as a 1 input 2 output transaction could spend a large amount of BTC, or just as a many inputs many outputs transaction could spend a relatively small amount of BTC.
Right, you can easily imagine counter behaviors to my example, which is why the tx shape is merely metadata instead of just data. Do you know if any XMR wallets automate churning, or would users need to perform those txs manually?

Am I the only one who just considers the smartphone a spyware, non-secure device that constantly surveils you and is not your friend? I see people trying to jump over GrapheneOS, under the impression they have privacy or security. These devices are just, by design, detrimental to your privacy and security.
Don't store private keys. Don't use it for anything sensitive for your life. Accept it, since it is a must-have device in the modern world, but don't depend your life on it.
Nope, I think of it that way too.
My motto really is the phone is probably worth more the the crypto in the hot wallet on it.
Any data that goes though the phone I consider public knowledge for the most part.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bengali) don't have their own local boards but are part of this overview nevertheless.
Post activity per local board during February 2026During February, 12919 posts were written across local boards that are part of the overview, which is a noticeable drop compared to January's 13925. Majority of that drop happened on the most active board, Nigerian, whose numbers went down from 4824 in January to 3924 in February. Despite the drop, they are still by far the most active board, followed by Russian and Turkish.
Active members per local board during February 2026During the above mentioned period, 1335 members wrote at least one post, which is an expected drop compared to January's 1392. Unsurprisingly, majority of the drop happened on the Nigerian board. It would be ineteresting to hear from someone from their local board (maybe from their local sheriff Igebotz?) what has happened there.
Local board members per amount of posts during February 2026 When it comes to the percentage of members who wrote only one post in their board during February, leader is Indian board with 50%, while at the same time Croatian local board had only 14% of such members.
At the 2-9 posts bracket leader is French board with 52%, while Turkish was at the bottom with 36%.
Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, the leader is Portuguese board with 50% of such members, while French is at the bottom with only 5% of the members that wrote 10+ posts during last month.
Merit shared per local board during February 2026During February, 7901 merit was shared across local boards which is a big drop compared to January during which 9717 merit was shared. This time noy only Nigerian board is responisble for such a big drop, but basically all the more active and merited boards as well. Despite the drop, I think those are still pretty good numbers.
Merit/Post ratio per local board during February 2026As it can be seen on the chart, despite the big drop of merit sent, merit per post ratio remained pretty high. Well, at least on the majorify of the boards, while some like Greek, Bengali, Pilipinas and French are still struggling.
Merit senders and receivers per local board during February 2026During the last month, 535 members sent while 615 members of local boards received merit, which is expectedly a drop compared to January (633 senders, 725 receivers)
Percentage of merited posts across local boards during February 2026Once again Romanian board remained at the top of this chart, but this time with more realistic (but still very high) 45% merited posts, while Indian and Italian were just behind them. At the same time we have Greek board which is on par with Off Topic and similar boards.

The most active members per local board during February 2026Last but not the least in this monthly overview, the list of the most active members per local board. mandown from Turkish local has been the most active member with 132 posts, followed by two member from Russian local, Julien_Olynpic with 121 post and klarki with 119 post. Emergency reserves and funds have some similarities, so my question is, does it make any sense for the emergency fund to be invested in Bitcoin if there has been no emergency for a long time and you think keeping it in fiat is making its value meaningless.
It would make sense to allocate a portion to bitcoin, but not all of it. While it is true that fiat is worth less day by day, bitcoin is still very volatile, for good reasons. The emergency reserves should not be able to fluctuate like 10-20% per month, and we all know bitcoin is capable of those ranges.
As an individual, however, I think your emergency funds should better bitcoin...
We understand the value of Bitcoin and the benefit of investing in Bitcoin, but looking at an emergency fund, it is something that needs to be looked at critically in order for one to decide which option will be better. Everyone is not the same; for some people, they can invest their emergency funds in Bitcoin, while for others, it is better for the emergency funds to remain untouched.
This is based on personal experience, and if an emergency does occur, it depends on whether they can easily handle it. For me, I think this is more of a personal decision that one needs to evaluate carefully and consider what the outcome will be if anything happens.
