I would argue that developers will now have even more access than before. As I said, previously they simply could not mine anything in testnet4, because it was practically infeasible. Now with testnet5, a tiny Bitaxe that consumes 15 watt is enough to mine one block per day, even if testnet5 reaches 100m+ difficulty.
I agree with with and it will be interesting to see it play out.
Another reason why it's better is because wallet developers experienced massive reorgs in testnet4 which made their wallet testing more difficult than needed.
Meh, if they stuggle with reorgs... they aren't ready for production IMO. We handle it all just fine. *shrugs*
Testnet is supposed to be a wake pool a bit.

OK, since you know the secrets of taint and how centralized exchanges operate under the hood with peculiar accuracy, can you tell me why a centralized exchange would flag my deposit transaction if it hadn't to do with my coins being flagged as "dirty" by their chain analysis program? Suppose I have completed their KYC process, and I'm a verified account. Why would they reject my deposit if the coins weren't flagged tainted?
It is one search away. Taint is one of the factors, perhaps the most important factor but it is just one of many. I'll give a very terrible example again to keep it simple, someone could have reported your address or you as the individual for involvement in a crime even if falsely. The current coins are "clean" that you are using are clean, but the address is related to a "crime" or you are a "criminal".
Read some of these links, the things are ridiculous really. Basically the surest way to be clean is only if you behave like complete NPC, doing the most common things in the most common ways like the mass of the stupid people. Everything other than that is "suspicious".

Πριν χρόνια ασχολούμουν ερασιτεχνικά με αγωνιστικό αθλητισμό (πάει πάνω από μια δεκαετία αλλά τέλος πάντων), πριν από μεγάλους αγώνες κλπ φόρτωνα κόκκινο κρέας, μοσχαρίσια μπριζόλα, συκώτι κ.ο.κ. και μπορώ να πω ότι έβλεπα μεγάλες διαφορές σε απόδοση. Isn't testnet5 supposed to start at a high difficulty (1M) already? That makes CPU-mining a block impossible for developers.
When I tried CPU mining a few years ago, I think I did something in the order of a few M hashes per second. That would be like 1 block per 10 minutes (give or take) at difficulty 1. If it's a million times more difficult, that turns into many years per block.
So testnet5 will be an ASICs only testnet right from the start.

Those are old times, and old stories and most often those stories are missing key details.
How do you know this is "old stories" that belongs to the past? It's literally a black box. You get them rejected and you don't know why.
Every time a story is fully unraveled, there was something wrong with it. Therefore, you should not believe random idiots on the internet just because you have a bias to side against companies. Most of the stories are fake or missing key information, such as buying discounted coins P2P.
If one exchange supports coinjoined coins and another does not, that has nothing to do with AML/KYC issues -- those are exchange-related policies and internal risk paramters. Of course, differences in AML "data are" possible if you compare a fully regulated exchange (both in the US and EU) with some random yet popular exchange that is registered in Mogadishu.
This is a long way of saying that every exchange understands "taint" differently.
That is not taint, you are confusing concepts that relate to risk management in regards to compliance.
I can flag your transaction or you personally even if your coins are completely clean, therefore not tainted at all.
Neither one of those mean that properly regulated exchanges are not accessing the same AML risk data. I hope that this makes it clear now.
Let's assume that every exchange on the planet accesses the same AML risk data from only one chain analysis company. The fact that each practices its own "internal risk parameters" means that some exchanges will treat your coins as "tainted" as some others will disagree, just as I said.
And it's not true, they don't have the same "AML risk data", there are multiple chain analysis companies. It's all a giant BS sold by the US government to fund chain analysis and create fear mongering.
No, that is not about taint. Stop repeating the same stuff and start listening so that you can expand your knowledge of the shitty industry. Coins can be perfectly clean, and your transaction can still be flagged. There are different things going on, "tainted" vs. "not tainted" coins is just a tiny part of it and does not cover the complete picture -- actually it is the most basic and smallest part of it, since flagging coins based on taint is simple in clear cases. See the part in bold again.

The use case that deserves more attention is simply being able to hold money that isn't at the mercy of capital controls or a government that wakes up one day and decides to limit withdrawals. People in stable countries don't think about this much, but people in Argentina, Nigeria and Lebanon think about it every day.
People all need to think about it because governments and banks work similarly in all nations. It's only different in levels of severity of their governance and actions on their citizens and their bank accounts as well as funds.
Your bank accounts can be frozen, money can be marked as dark money and illegal one, and government can take all your money. You will even have to face with legal issues and tax responsibility.
This, and being difficult to confiscate. And obviously permissionless cross border payments.
Bitcoin is traceable but it is governmental permissionless and with a Bitcoin non custodial wallet, Bitcoin users can control their coins, use them easily without any dependence on governments and banks.
No risk of confiscation by government or bank by online ways. They only can take your bitcoin if they arrest you and get your Bitcoin wallets from you.

I'm pretty sure their compliance strategy is just two guys throwing darts at a map of non-EU countries. By the time Brussels drafts an angry letter to Tbilisi to complain about the SEPA backdoor, Binance will already be routing their EUR deposits through a bakery in Kazakhstan.
Binance always was one step ahead of authorities.
When their EU payment processing vehicle got BTFO'd by local authorities after heavy nudges by the EU, they ALREADY had a shell company in France called HARMONIIE SAS ready to go and they started issuing their own IBANs to their users on the same day the payment processor was gone. It was a very in your face attitude from the beginning with EU authorities but in the later years they've kind of been overdoing it. They kind of had it coming for them with the MiCA regulation after laughing at the face of EU authorities and making a mockery of the application of law for so long.
I’ll add my two cents: all crypto exchanges were doing pretty much the same thing. Binance is the largest crypto exchange by trading volume, which is why it frequently makes the news.

I'm pretty sure their compliance strategy is just two guys throwing darts at a map of non-EU countries. By the time Brussels drafts an angry letter to Tbilisi to complain about the SEPA backdoor, Binance will already be routing their EUR deposits through a bakery in Kazakhstan.
Binance always was one step ahead of authorities.
When their EU payment processing vehicle got BTFO'd by local authorities after heavy nudges by the EU, they ALREADY had a shell company in France called HARMONIIE SAS ready to go and they started issuing their own IBANs to their users on the same day the payment processor was gone. It was a very in your face attitude from the beginning with EU authorities but in the later years they've kind of been overdoing it. They kind of had it coming for them with the MiCA regulation after laughing at the face of EU authorities and making a mockery of the application of law for so long.

- You can pay any amount, and you get the respective days or hours you're paying for based on the flat price. (e.g., pay €2.5 get 2 weeks, pay €50 get 10 months etc.)
How is the download speed? Especially for torrenters?
I am currently using the free version of Proton VPN because I do not need to torrent and for browsing it is great. 0 Euro per month.
The only downsides are that I cannot torrent with it and I also cannot freely choose the VPN country.

It's not right to expect it only Bitcoin is decentralized so bitcoin distribution must be not in hands and wallets of institutions and whales. Decentralization is about the blockchain, network, development, not distribution because everyone has rights to buy, sell, and mine bitcoins. Who or which entities can do that more seriously will have more bitcoins.

Ok, let me use this analogy. Assuming I went to a physical market to buy a specific product and in that entire market, non of the retail traders or wholesalers have this product and their reasons for not having it is that distributors have not supplied to them for some weeks. So, anyone interested on the goods will have to wait until it's being supplied before they can buy it (real scarcity), but if the product is still very much available in the shops of some retailers and wholesalers where by any consumer can still buy the amount of that product that they want, can we say the product is really scarce?

I think it's pretty acknowledged by now that various exchanges will treat your coins as tainted, even though some others disagree.
Those are old times, and old stories and most often those stories are missing key details. If one exchange supports coinjoined coins and another does not, that has nothing to do with AML/KYC issues those are exchange-related policies. An exchange can flag you for whatever it wants, it can flag you for having an username that starts with a B. Of course, differences in AML "data are" possible if you compare a fully regulated exchange (both in the US and EU) with some random yet popular exchange that is registered in Mogadishu.
Neither one of those means that properly regulated exchanges are not accessing the same AML risk data.
If you don't believe in the theory/research, then you can do the tests yourself with some tools assuming that you have money that you could burn as an expense to verify it for yourself.
I don't have the time, but I do have read plenty of cases, and that is enough for me to comprehend that basically each exchange buys from different chain analysis firms, and each database may often be updated, for example after a certain hack happens.
This is not true, it is based on a misunderstanding of the whole field. An exchange can decide its own risk parameters and other policies, that does not have any impact on the AML data. For example, an exchange can decide that any Monero swap coming from TOR or a VPN will automatically trigger an AML/KYC review. This again does not mean that it uses a different database, or that there is a "different" database. Many of the services even use the same providers to handle KYC, to whom you often also submit the AML data. I test the systems of these services regularly.
How do you know? im pretty sure the top tier tools for these things have privileged information. On the other hand, like I said, you have no way to know how free services are doing it. In fact, im sure top tier ones work with Chainalysis and others and have updated cross-chain databases.
Experimental systems testing and access to Chainalysis. There is no logical reason for the top tier ones to keep information privileged, they are trying to sell it to as many enterprise clients as possible. You are falsely assuming that these operate as some sort of honeypots, when they are just businesses built on evil and like many businesses they have insatiable greed.
Never got around Sparrow Wallet. I think there's more risk in screwing up with a software you are not familiar with. I like seeing the complete list of inputs as seen in Coin Control of Bitcoin Core and just click whatever you want to use. If you label things properly it shouldn't be a problem. The accounts thing looks interesting tho. But multiple wallets is easy in Bitcoin Core now if you need that. If I have the time I will check Sparrow Wallet's account workflow and if it's good it could be suggested to Bitcoin Core and Electrum developers.
Accounts are one of the best features of wallet seeds, you really need to get around to learning it.
Could you mention what you think the best services are for each option? Were would b1exch and Trocador.app fall there?
I can't claim any services are the best, I can only tell you from the ones that I have experimented with what has worked for me in recent times. This is very different to users here, who will read some stories and then proclaim to know the truth about this service or that service -- which is completely false, and shows that they have no idea what they are talking about.
Someone might have a lot of issues with 1 swap service, while another person may be moving millions monthly through it. This is how things actually happens in practice in a half-regulated, filled with tainted coins and AML/KYC bullshit space. I have had the best success with:
Atomic swaps: UnstoppableSwap.
Decentralized bridges: THORChain, and derivative services built onto it.
Swap services: b1eXch. This is the most dangerous category. A properly decentralized bridge will simply refund coins that they can't process, it will be done automatically. There can't be any freezing of any kind, which is not true for this category.
Trocador.app would be an aggregator but I'd put it into the swap services, this is why.

Depends on the context. Say BTC goes to $500,000 and you want to cash out some funds that are not KYC'd to buy real estate. Well, hiring a lawyer that has expertise in this field and has the top tier tools would allow you to produce a report that you can send to various compliance departments as needed. It's better than checking some random "AML checker" under a VPN or something. That's useful as a preview or funds you don't really need for anything relevant like paying for cheaper services, not doing a proper investment that requires big volume transactions. Like I said I really doubt you can compare these free AML checkers to the top tier ones which I assume have the most up to date databases that work with Chainalysis and have cross-chain information, plus if you are going to buy real state or something big you are going to be doxed anyway and would be best to work close with a lawyer expert in crypto and compliance, I would invest extra on this to produce the best report possible rather than use the free ones and send them to the CEX hoping you are not locked out and then hire a lawyer to try to send them a letter explaining how you acquired the funds.
You got the order of things reversed. How do you think these things happen unless you are using specialized off-boarding services? You send a message to a CEX trying to comply in advance? For them $500k is nothing, especially since you are not going to be trading with it. First you would send the funds to the CEX, and then you'd be proving things after the fact. Whether your reports come from a lawyer or they are compiled by yourself, that makes no real difference to them. You would not be sending them a result of a free AML check or the result of Chainanalysis in any case. For example, someone who has bought these coins on another regulated exchange could simply have a single self-generated document by the exchange. Where is the need for the lawyer? Very few lawyers in the world specialize in crypto AML, there are a few more that are low-quality services / scammers but go ahead if you love authorities.
Those tools are only used for your own information in this context. You can check if some coins that you have received are tainted or have a higher risk, and then you can decide not to send those coins to a regulated platform to avoid a headache.

Jokes aside, 24 hours to report an actively exploited zero-day is absolutely brutal for a tech team. Half the time these companies don't even know they've been breached until a week later when some intern notices the database is crying.
The rule reads: '24 hours from awareness', that would mean they must make a report within 24 hours of finding out that they have been breached. I think the rule is fair, i don't know why a service would fail to immediately report actively exploited flaws once they find out about it, when it's their duty to warn their customers that an attacker has breached their system.

1. It might be accurate, but not efficient.
2. Constantly killing and respawning Python worker processes creates massive overhead. Spin up your workers once and just feed them new nonce ranges.
Also, mandatory reality check: writing a CPU miner in Python is a fun learning project, but your CPU is silently crying right now.
I also enjoy experimenting with my weird little design.
And yes, as a legendary hacker, you probably know better than I do — my CPU is crying. That's fine.
I'd rather let my CPU cry than use clang++ and buy an ASIC just to claim that I have the best design in the world.
Now, do you have any test results from actually running the code?
I'd like to see them so I can determine what is actually wrong.

Bro, you are confusing illiquidity and shortage with scarcity. Because scarcity means limited supply, while a product can be scarce and it can have units available for anyone to buy as much as they want. If someone wants to buy 22 million Bitcoin, can they buy? Nope, that's because Bitcoin is scarce.
Now you can say, who would buy this much? Maybe someone would but no one can buy 22 million. I hope it explains. Because with this definition of scarcity, you are going to misunderstand what it actually is.

If the housing market cools just enough to bring down shelter inflation, allowing the Fed to gradually lower rates without triggering a recession, then yes, that is bullish. Lower yields push capital further out on the risk curve, and Bitcoin is a prime beneficiary of that fresh money.
However, if this data is the canary in the coal mine for a broader recession, the short-term reality for BTC could be ugly.
You know that most investors care less about federal reserve policy against lower interest rates, and that's because they buy mostly because they see the signs and that's why the smart money investors will continue to buy BTC as real time housing data weakens, because that's a better positioning strategy while the economy cools down or not.

I do think it's not yet time for people to start saying that Bitcoin is scarce because if it actually become scarce, some people who wants to buy a small or large number of Bitcoin will actually have to wait for days or weeks until they find someone who is will to sell his or her Bitcoin. I have thought about this before tho, I don't know what you think.

People can simply start putting some parts of their savings in a place they have more direct control over it and that is the part that really stands out to me because you don’t actually need to convince everyone to leave traditional financial system. For example someone that is earning salary in naira can receive their income via normal bank while choosing to save some in bitcoin, that alone changes relationship they have with their funds without requiring them to abandon the system.
That is why bitcoin can be difficult to understand I guess, it is not just another investment or payment app. it gives us another flexible option we don’t really have before.
